Based on my experience so far (around paragon 200 in soft and hardcore, still in master with hardcore), I would say it would take 6 months at least. But I am just guessing, Anybody care to share their experience?

You can get into high torments with just crafted gear and a few drops on most classes. What are you playing?

I should have made myself clearer. The problem is not getting into a torment level, the point is surviving. Especially when you are playing hardcore. I played different classes and my experience is that after a damage level of 500k, the progress is really slow. Better gear does not seem to drop very often. I play only bounties and rifts because I have the impression that a damage level of 500k and a toughness of around 10mil just won't get you very far. I tried T1 with a damage level of 750k and toughness of more than 10mil, and my toon died on me after an hour or 2. So now I am sticking to master and hoping to level up again to at least 800k damage and 12mil toughness, if not more, before I try Torment again.

The toon that dies was a wizard with the following spells and skills:
- magic missile/glacial spike
- ray of frost / sleet storm
- arcane orb / frozen orb
- arcane torrent / static discharge
- hydra / frost
- ice armor / frozen storm

passive skills:
- blur
- evocation
- astral presence
- unstable anomaly

As you can see, I favor survivability over damage. For that I rely on loot, which, i am sorry to say, is usually trash.

It only takes a few weeks to get to T6...
Your problems are
1. Its Hardcore - You have a lower chance of getting items, since you'll only play in lower game diff.
2. You are using a Wiz - Since you are in HC. Its best to create a sader first that will allow you to farm items/mats, then go to another class after.

I don't understand the second point. What do you mean by that, and what is a sader in this case?
And I played first softcore, with the same problem: after a while, progress in damage and toughness becomes minimal. I got as far as T3, with the same lack of results, that is why i started HC.

Sader = Crusader.
Wiz is too soft, its not easy to play wiz especially in HC.
In softcore you can push your toon even if it dies.
When doing HC create a strong toon first to support the needs of your Wiz.

I do not want to sound stubborn (which I am in fact), and certainly not unwilling to learn, but I have tried all classes in HC and the only one that turned out able to survive HC was the wizard. I must be doing something wrong as far as tweaking the other classes, but then i have no idea what. I have come a long way since I started Diablo3 about 2 months ago, but I am aware I still have a lot to learn. Playing HC is the perfect way to do that, any mistake in the tweaks is immediately sanctioned. My other classes are now able to survive much longer, but none has reached as far as the wizard did. DH came second, and all melee classes were hopeless. I would really appreciate any tips you have about what skills I should use for a crusader for instance.
- When you say that it takes a few weeks to reach T6, could you be more specific? Is it about a month, or closer to 2? And that goes, i suppose, only for softcore?

Ummm since when to Hardcore players do T6? They do T4. You're botting you're just asking to die, the bot is not gonna get out of bad situation.

Dude. Make a toon, rush him to 70, get math q from a friend. Run T6 chests until you're geared. I play HC exclusively, m6 DH works for me, set traps and hide = my survival strategy. In the guides section there is an excellent thread on the cold DH, you should read it. I bot T6 on HC constantly with an m6 cold DH, stock settings, DB right out of the box, no problem, so can you. Doesn't take long, maybe a week or two..

There's no shame in botting T1 in HC, there's really no reason to bot a higher lvl, you'll get T6 items from chest runs. You need to learn the basic survival strategies before botting T6 will serve you (ie: you'll keep loosing your toons)..

I always have many backup toons, I'm always ready to loose a toon or two. I have a sader a WD and a barb who bot T6 no problem as well. I've never had luck with my wiz or monk, T4 tops..

I play all games HC, it's what I'm used to, once the idea of never dying gets ingrained, it becomes easier.. It's probably more difficult to switch back and forth from HC to SC..

Anyways, GL..

- thanks for the tip concerning the dh guide. But I don't really understand how I am supposed to run T6 chests unless i am already at T6.
- When you say that you reach T6 in a week, are you playing or botting? I can imagine that playing is certainly more secure than botting, and in the long run, maybe much faster with a single account. Still, T6 in a week is something that is definitely out of my reach.
- I have lost many toons already, and I will lose many more in the future. I do not mind because I do not need to make money out of the game, and each time I learn something new.
- I completely agree with you concerning HC, I find it much more fun than SC.

Iam not playing hc.
But i bought a new Diablo account last week because it was 50% off.
When iam writning this it has gone 7days exakt.
What have i done ?
Paragon level 350.
1biljon cash.
5 thunder fury.
2 hexing pants.
1 tasker.
5 stone of jordan.
2 unity.

When i toke 70 on my account i did some bounties on normal.
Around 3-5h.
Then i craft some gear and began to bot t1.
Around 2 days.
It toke me 2 days on a wd to do t6 with out problem.

IF u are botting on a hc and have done a DH then u are a retard.
Sorry for that word.
If u are going to bot, bot a char that take no damage.
I got 30% off the damage i take goes to my dog.
Then i got a unity 100% of that damage goes to my fallower.

And if it takes you 6month to complete a t6 char on hc.
Why in hell woud u ever play hc and on a dh?
i getting upgrades one per month on my main account.
802 paragon level wd.
Got 1,8milj papper dps.
Dieng once per hour.

And sorry my english iam not the best at it.

What iam trieng to say.
Learn how to play the game.
Or grow some balls.
Or stop play hc and begin to play sc.

My fasted time to get T6 viable on hardcore was under 30 hours, DH crazy.
For hardcore though you probably want backup characters, and personally I find Pet Doctors are great for hardcore

Chest runs, Why aren't you at T6?? Get a bud to unlock adventure mode by killing math.. you should be able to open a T6 game.. Chest runs do not involve killing things, no gear is required..

I suppose you mean 300 hours, because i have had multiple account now running T6 chests for 4 or 5 days, and they are no way near T1. So you will excuse me if I find it hard to believe. Unless of course you have been playing yourself, in which case it still is really a great achievement, worthy of the hall of fame.

If users who have told incredible stories about how easy it is to achieve T6 are to be believed, then there is only one conclusion possible: Diablo3 loot-dropping-system has been nerfed. It would be interesting to see if these same people would be willing to level up a toon and see if they can achieve the same results as fast as they did before. After all, it would only take a couple of days, and the results would benefit the whole community.
