Yeah, figured I'd make one of these posts aswell. Been botting for, oh I dont know, 3 years on and off now I guess. Started with Pirox, absolutely loved it. I thought nothing could be as good as this. That eventually got bought out and shut down, so I downloaded what I thought was the next best thing - HonorBuddy.
Boy was I wrong. I can even type essays ingame now while bot is still running! This bot is absolutely amazing, and is the only reason I still run WoW.
I started with just simple gathering botting, processing all the mats and selling for massive profits. Had about 1.8mil gold at one point, and gave it all away when I once again quit wow "for good". Came back a few months later, got bored yet again, and started botting to make it more fun. Still, was not fun forever, and once again, I quit.
Then came the day I first started Honorbuddy. I could immediatly see that this thing was the shit. Botted tons and tons of reputation,pets, mounts. Everything that made my char look "better".
Took a break after Firelands, and started again during MoP release. Made a legitimate 1.2m gold, realized this shit couldnt be used for anything. So I basicly gave up wow, but figured since I no longer give a fuck, I will sell this gold, being banned in the process or not - I did not give a fuck.
I sold in total 1.2million gold for 1300$. In one day - as you can imagine I was ecstatic! Being jobless at the time, and not alot of cash coming in, I thought I could turn this in to a regular thing, and I did.
Since MoP release I have sold for approx 3.000$. Botting 24/7 on 2 accounts,(Only breaks being whenever I need to loot mail/post auctions)
Recently transfered 1 bot over to a new server, as my previous server was to low gold prices on to profit from 2 24/7 bots. I make around 25-35k a day.
I post anywhere from 500-2500 stacks of herbs each day, on each server, depending on how much I sold the previous day. I only post about 250 stacks at once though, as looting any more expired mail than that is simply to demoralizing. I should mention I now try to actually do anything ingame manually as little as possible. This means I've set up my bots to mail to one char, where I have TSM set up to mail all herbs to another char via one click. I then use TSM to post everything "as is". So all in all, I only have to walk between mailboxes and auction house, hit the Auto Mail button, and the Post button. Perfect, right?
I have been banned tons of times(not since cata though), everytime I claimed total and utter cluelessness. I got unbanned straight away. This makes me think everything blizzard does is automated, and they dont give a fuck. Do not get reported - do not get banned.
As for drawbacks to this whole thing, I've really only had one. And that is Power usage. I switched my bot over to my laptop instead of running them on my stationary 24/7. Reason being my stationary uses around 30 kw/d, and my laptop only uses 10kw/d. Not sure if I'm gonna get a massive hit on my tax return next summer, but I hope not.(Being that you have to transfer them paypal -> straight to bank)
All in all, I have to say it has and will be worth it until I get banned and can't be unbanned. I make sales everyweek, each time selling around 150k on each server. I refuse to sell below 0.6$, but I might have to lower that soon. I don't exactly make big bucks doing this (only comes out to about a buck an hour if you do the math) but its a nice side income - if only to get 4 free tanks of gas a month!
Edit: No point saying stuff like " you will eventually be banned if you dont slow down" etc, as I simply dont give a fuck if Im banned or not.
