Its all specuation at this stage..

In my opinion HB has been detectable since may 2015.. they just ban in waves to help keep boss land away from there secret of how they are detecting.

We know that the detection is happening in the injection side of things.. (program detection would trigger a tripwire)..

So somewhere in the process of HB reading and injecting into WOW- blizzard has worked out a way to detect this.

no and no...cause i was heavely botting many alt from 0 to 100 on an account with expiring paiement on 24 november...so i don't use this account since 24 november and this account is not ban..
my other account are ban....
so something happen between 24 november and 16 december....and hb don't detect that....

i can also confirm that accounts i didnt bot with since summer, have not been banned, only accounts ive botted this month have been banned!

Agreed 100% because my other account that i botted but stopped botting before nov. 24 is alive and was my most important account. Hb was not detected till after nov. 24

My wife's account that I botted on the last date the sub ran out was the 4th of Nov and it got banned ..


So your theory is screwed... All it means it they chose to do scans randomly

Honorbuddy has probably been detectable since may as Camel said, but they probably weren't scanning for botters except for the last month-2months.

I botted a few times from like the 11th december > 15th and I didn't get hit by the hammer so I believe there was like a cut off point before the 11th of December.

Well, I had 2 accounts. one was banned as the wave hit while I was botting
The second account was not banned, and the last time I botted on it was the 28th of November

Not really people who got banned farmed gold/professions i've been using the bot for months leveling characters up and the odd dungeon farm and I've not been banned

I was botting heavily on multiple accounts until dec 04. when one of my accounts was permabanned because of using noobbot (trial version used for couple of hours CR only while HB was down). I haven't botted on any of my accounts since and all of them survived this banwave. Similar thing happend on may banwave. I stopped botting 15 days before on couple of accounts which survived banwave.
Since all of my accounts survived this banwave I'm pretty sure that detection occured between dec 04. and dec 16.

interesting point. The account I got banned was farming mining/skinning/herbing alot. the one that is safe was only botting to lvl to 100 and dailies.
could it be they consider the "damage" to the game for other players ?

Indeed a friend of mine who heavily botted resources got a 6 month ban

I only quested from 90-95 with the bot, i purchased the bot + the wow account last week, account got banned.

Another account which I mainly played manually (only the last 2 weeks), but botted a bit on it (+/- 2h), is NOT banned. This account dates back from vanilla.
