How do you update HB? +protected items.xml question

Hey guys =)

I have a quickie here.

Seeing as there will be multiple versions for 3.3.3 in a short time, how exactly do you update HB?

I suppose it's not like glider auto-updating, but you rather have to do a clean install every time there is an update...

And since I do not want to reconfigure everything, what settings should I copy to the new folder? The profile i'm using and the config folder from there? Protecteditems.xml? What more?

Anyways speaking of protecteditems, which has more power, protected items in the list or items listed in the profile? And can I use this code formatting in protected items.xml ( <Item>6497</Item> ) . And last Offtopic question, how do I force mailing of some items? And how do I stop HB from mailing specific items?

well about the forcemailing i dont know,
and i just copy all my cc's from the old version to the new one, togheter with my profiles.
and reconfigure them... it doesnt even take long so...

My process(fresh installs):
1. Unzip the new version
2. Copy Custom Classes over *including config data
3. Copy Protecteditems.xml if you use or edit yours
4. delete old folder or rename it to whatever

I always start with a fresh config in case something was changed or new features were added. Just like in GB.

Protected Items:
I always edit the xml file for protected items and never mess with profile specific things as it can become cluttered and/or messed up when using multiple bot toons or CCs.

Mailing:
The mailing is done based on whatever profile you are using, sort of like the protecteditems thing. Just open it up and you can see what to add or remove from mailing.

o)Your CombatClasses (don't foget to delete the standard CCs if you copy a 3rd Party cc in the folder)
o)Your Protected Items.xml
o)Your Styx.Settings.xml
o) your Plugins Folder
o) your profile - but I would recommend to store this data not in the HB folder

o) I think so - yes - but there where always troubles with the protected itemlist - profile rocks much more. - I copy and paste my predefined protected items and my sell and mail options - this works!

o) protected list inside the profile will prevent HB to send them
o) forcemail for specific items isn't possible I think. You can only define per "color" - "rarity" - grey, white, green, blue, purple. If you want to mail a specific grey white item you would run into big trouble. Because you probalby vendor it BEFORE you go to the mailbox. Explain what you want to do - I'l have look

Concerning the mail thingy... While I level I skin a lot... so when I wake up in the morning I end with a shitload of leather... stuck without bagspace... in front of a vendor... trying to sell a hearthstone or something...
So leathers are in my protected items list in the profile but I have sell whites to on, because I don't want to keep all the meat I get (don't wanna get a lootfilter... yet), but I want to send them to an alt, not keep them in my bag... forcing my toon to return to the vendor more often....

but atm our priority is new nav and questing

I prefer to do a clean install and set up everything. This is the best and savest way I guess
