How cleaver is pokemon go - from new york to sydney in 12 hours?

Do any of you know how cleaver pokemon go is? I know, if you travel from new york to sydney in 5 seconds, you will get a softban, but what if you travel in like 12 hours? it takes 23 hours with plaine in real life, but do you know if they use google maps to check that? Or have you tried something like this yourself?

As a fellow ingress player i can say that they (probably) use GMaps.
As far as i can see, now, they are not using anticheating rules like in Ingress. But when they will turn them on, you can use gmaps with no problem.
