How can Blizzard "detect" HB?

I recently got a 72 hr suspension after i used a grind bot profile for 13 hours, and was just wondering what ways blizzard would use detect that somebody is botting with HB.

I'm not very familiar on how the Warden works, but I'm pretty much guessing that for myself, they had seen how long i was online and how much i had killed, along with the fact that i hadn't moved from the zone? I checked the logs and couldn't find anything somebody might had said to me in /say and couldn't find anybody, and i had no whispers.

72hrs are dueto reporting, if the bot was detected everybody and their mother in this forum would've been permanently banned.

So a report was the only way this could've happened?

I'm just tryin to see if it would be safe enough for me to BG bot a little this weekend for the AB weekend xp, if its only left to a report that i would be found than i would do it... but if they would actually be watching me now idk.

Actually mostly these 72h bans are cause of blizzard's new "pattern" detection.

if he was reported it would be perma.

you can see pretty much exact date when blizzard turned it on from ban forums, its been on for quite while now.

It's most likely player reports but possibly they looked at how many kills you got in how much time, and you using the same rotation the exact same way every time..There's a million possible things.

Blizzard wouldnt waste their time on investigating bots by hand. Unless theres alot people reporting you.

The pattern detection is (afaik) kinda like BG inactivity buff, when you reach certain amount theres high possibility that you will be banned for X time.
However, none knows yet how exactly the detection works. I suggest changing grinding place quite often.

I guess my question is can Blizzard detect that somebody is using honorbuddy without then seeing that the person has been online for a long time, or has killed a lot in that time/followed the same path or whatever.
I'm just trying to figure out if it would be safe enough for me to continue botting, just in smaller amounts of time, and still avoid a perma ban.

Nobody can give you a definitive answer, but if I were you, i wouldn't bot on the account for a while, but then again i rely on my accounts as a source of income. Just remember the one (*cough*) rule of botting : Don't bot an account you care about!

Its kinda hard not to bot on the account you love because you need to have the stuff you want on that account (that you get from botting)
