With all of the entrepreneurs we have on this forum I'm surprised that nobody has come up with a web site to allow botters to auction their gold to the public through a third party. I mean, some of you complain about playerauctions.com but you don't come up with any competition for this site. If it's a Chinese racket, as some of you suggest, then why not take the idea and make it work with a legit game currency clearing house? Online game currency is literally a multibillion dollar industry. According to the world bank, $4.9 billion was spent on online currency in 2009. So, I can't believe you guys are stuck selling your gold for .27 wholesale while the Chinese turn around and sell it for $1.2 right now. It seems like there should be someone in this community that could come up with an Honorbuddy-Ebay or something similar.

Hey you just volunteered yourself ill visit your site once you get it up and running

cos they will ban you on ebay and there's no middle man for chargebacks... do you know how screwed up the digital market is?

The only thing you can do is BitCoin one-way system but then the responsibility relies on the seller.

dem legal issues
legal issues seem to be a minor obstacle for the creators of Honorbuddy. I know the rules are different for actually selling game currency, but there is bound to be a way to do it. I know the name "honor-ebay" would be a serious trademark violation, but there is bound to be a good name that would work even better.

The thing that makes Ebay work is the reputation system. A similar system would have to be set up for something like this to work. There are several reasons why reversing charges is not a common practice on Ebay. One of them is, people that do such things don't get a chance to do it again. In terms of game currency, there could be limits placed on the size of the order so a limited amount of money was in play when some idiot chose to try to scam someone.

Also chargebacks are reduced seeing that ebay owns paypal (which is one of the few methods of payments it has). In the end ebay has the last say in a chargeback because they own the credit card processor.

In europe i can?t se any legal issues with having a market place just for boters, the site holder can never be responsible for what are sold or of what is sold are not to be sold for some reson in US, trading gold is legal in europe, unless you scam someone, even if it is against blizzards rules.

Blizzards "rules" are not law here.

next to being a serious trademark violation you're also showing the people that the gold that your selling is directly gained through botting.
Which is part of the biggest legal issue for selling in-game currency.
The chances are way higher to create a legal currency selling system if you dont even wake the thought of bot-money.
How can you prove the chinese got their money by botting? have you ever seen the chinese in-game currency-market ?
A big hall with 100's of chinese gamers farming the currency, those are the big guys/companies in the industry.
The bots are indeed those like BitCoin and low life guys, those guys dont make money at all.

Just use playe actionhouse
I think this is not an good idea there are already to many gold selling sites

As I said in a previous post, "HonorBuddyEbay" was not really a serious name only an idea with potential. I can list other reasons why it's not a good name, but the idea is still good. Furthermore, even if a business had a bot's name attached, it would be ridiculous to limit the auction house to selling gold that was only made through botting. Why would anyone ever have to admit to where or how he gathered his gold?

That's what we call a "RED HERRING" in my line of work. I never said the Chinese got their gold through botting. You pulled that out of thin air.

...and your idea of what the average Chinese in-game currency workers really look like is out of touch with reality. There are over 100,000 Chinese gold farmers. For most of them it is a family business. The extended family lives together in many Chinese homes. In some such homes, there are three or more generations farming gold on one or two computers. Everyone takes a turn from the elderly grandparents down to the teenage (and sometimes younger) grandchildren. This keeps the computer going 24/7, but not necessarily on the same character or even the same account.
