I feel we should allow the free market and free speech to decide the products ultimate fate.
We completely agree! The
Rating & Review system was established with this in mind, and we feel we hit it right on the mark!
"Freedom of speech" is a
highly misunderstood concept. It applies only to govenment censorship, not private corporations. It does not provide a venue to speak your mind—you must provide that yourself. If you borrow someone else's venue to speak, then you are subject to the rules of the venue. This does not encroach freedom of speech in any fashion!
Despite being a private venue, the Rating & Review policy makes clear Bossland lets reviews stand as long as they are not vulgar or an obvious troll.
So are the developer of their own products allow to report comments on their own product?.
Seems like a great way to temporarely abuse the comment system, just report any comment that speaks bad about your product lol
We believe that even the developer of a product has a right to challenge an inappropriate review. Bear in mind that once reported, only Bossland determines whether the review is inappropriate. In the future, we might consider an upvote/downvote for reviews, but we want to test the efficacy of the current system before investing in new features.
The other way the store could've implemented it is to immediately send all Reviews to a queue for approval. However, we felt this would incur unnecessary delay for a review that is most likely valid. So, the Review process was designed to make the review immediately available, and let it be subject to challenge.
A review can only be challenged once (by the first to report it). Once a review is vetted by Bossland as appropriate, it cannot be challenged again unless the review is updated.
