I am getting an error when I try to start honorbuddy, I am attaching the log file. I tried installing vcredist, also checked for os updates. I tried to install .net framework, but it says its already a part of windows 8.

if your still having issues after, upload a new log as an attachment.

I had already tried that before I posted, but I installed it again from your link incase maybe I hadnt done it right the first time. Here is a new log file.

download the latest version of honorbuddy from here.

after that do a CLEAN Install into a new folder, do not re-install to an previous installation and do not copy over any plugins, combat routines or quest behaviors into this new installation.

I deleted my honorbuddy folder, deleted any shortcuts I had on the desktop. Unzipped the file you linked into a new folder I had just made, didnt add any addons or routines or anything. Ran the launcher, told it where wow is located and it threw the same mainwindow error. Here is the new error log.

I have tried a few more things. I rolled back my system to 3 weeks ago and installed all windows updates. Honorbuddy started up and got to the login screen, when I went to login in it said it could not attach to wow version I am using. So I downloaded the new honorbuddy and put it in a folder called HB and tried to start that, it once again gives the mainwindow error. I can run the old version and atleast get to the login screen, the new version that you linked for me to download never gives the login screen, goes straight to that error.

everyone who has this issue is missing this software. make sure your running it as administrator, and make sure to restart after. if its still not working for you then theres something else going on your machine.

We finally figured this out, not sure exactly which step did it. We restored our system to the last restore point that we knew HB was working, did all windows update, did a fresh install of HB and reinstalled http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-4FF2-B699-5E9B7962F9AE/VSU3/vcredist_x86.exe and it back up and running.../shrug

yea, somehow the needed requirements didnt get installed or installed correctly. so thats what did it.
