this is probably an easy fix but i searched around a bit and couldn't find anything.

the problem i am having is when i close the lid of my laptop, i get D/C from wow. i already have the power options set to where "When i close Lid" = "Do Nothing" in both battery and plugged in modes.
EDIT: "put the computer to sleep" is also set to "Never"

Any help or on topic thoughts are appreciated. :)

Do you use wireless lan? If yes it maybe d/c's if you close the lid of your laptop. Maybe you can finde some options in your W-Lan settings.

there is prolly a little pin on your laptopcase where the keyboard it that automaticly turns the laptop in sleep mode, when its pressed in.
remove that, or see if you can change the settings for it, if not dont close the laptop completly and just put it under the bed or something :p

xvampx is correct, most laptops within the last 2 years have started adding this.
Some laptops have a selection within the BIOS, some require a complete new BIOS install and others have no configurable option at all so you can not close the lid.

laptop settings

only thing i can add is to double check your settings. I close my lid and it does what I set it too ...which is "keep on farmig your ass off mode"
and to add to that no I'd would not keep your laptop running in a case unless your ready to buy another laptop....

only option then is to cut it off ;)

thanks for all the ideas, i will have to check the BIOS the next time i have to restart, for now im just disabling the screen and leaving it part way open. looked for a pin without any success

if the reason you're closing, is from the light from the screen, just use teh FN key to switch the screen to an alternate monitor (you dont need to hook one up) then your screen will go black :)
just a note :)
