I signed up for HB tonight and have been unable to login, the log files are attached at the bottom. They represent pretty well what is happening when I try to log in, I click login and it crashes with the error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". I can't send the error report due to an 'Access is denied' error 2001-Unable to generate a temporary class.

I am on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
WoW is running 32Bit Windowed
I am running HB and WoW as admin
DirectX 9
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) Installed,
.NET Framework 3.5 not required (Win 7)

My user key is a direct copy from the registration email and I don't have a password entered. On my last attempt to login I received an authentication error even though the password (or lack thereof) was correct, on the second click of login it crashed.

This is literally the 4th time I have downloaded and installed honorbuddy tonight, please help :(

.NET Framework 3.5 not required (Win 7)

^^ actually this is a lie

we require .net 3.5 sp1 w/ all updates. Please install that, restart comp, and try again

being on Win 7 you shouldnt need to install net framework since it comes with your OS and you can grab the updates on Windows Updates
you can check if you net framework service is enabled at control panel-programs-windows features on and off

Thanks for the tips guys, but it's still crashing on load.

I checked in Programs and Features, and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 is "ticked" as a feature. There were some security feature updates and then an update to .NET Framework 4.0 which I also applied, and unfortunately it's still crashing.

Here's the problem message after the crash, I am not sure whether these are the details you require, but it's all that was available i'm afraid.

OK I have figured out what the issue is (if anyone else is having the same problem down the track).

The Curse client installs .net profile (can't remember the exact name) during its installation. I did a clean install of Windows 7 and tested WoW and HB, it worked OK. I did a full update of Windows 7 with all important and optional updates and WoW and HB worked OK. I installed the Curse client and it started having these errors.

In order to work around this issue, I installed the curse client first (after a clean install of windows 7), after which WoW and HB worked OK.

I haven't tested it yet, but i think you can perform all the .net updates afterward without breaking HB and curse. I don't think .net likes having changes made by Curse after it has been updated via windows 7 updates.

This could work differently for other people, but i thought i should share what fixed it for me.
