the current state of flying support is not bad at all
I will agree that the actual flying is done well. Kick's profiles in particular along with the FlyTo behavior are to be commended. Also, the Archeology and Fishing bots are much appreciated.
However, I believe that lack of built-in flying is horrible for a number of reasons:
1) It adds an unnecessary burden of debugging, testing, and maintenance to profile writing.
Honorbuddy is an amazing bot, but at this point in time
the value of Honorbuddy product lies in its profiles--not in the bot machinery.
2) No built-in flying means no AFK-ability.
Profile Writers
cannot adequately compensate for when a bot needs to go repair or sell. I can't tell you the number of times my toon has gotten stuck at the top of Stormspire or in a Stormpeaks transition because of this.
3) A lot of 'stuck' issues could be fixed by simply flying out.
Especially when the problem was caused by falling, and you didn't fall all the way down to a 'navigable area'. Many times the bot is smart enough to fly back and get the corpse, but after that, it has no where to go because it can't fly (or jump down) to a navigable area.
4)
Lack of built-in flying is simply an embarrassment.
For a bot as advanced as Honorbuddy to not have flying built-in (especially 5 months after the Cataclysm drop, but needed long before then), is simply product management shouting "we don't care".
It does horribly look like a bot to be using a ground mount in Outland and Northrend.
IMHO, to not have built-in flying at this point in time is
simply unexcusable. Don't get me wrong, I *love* Honorbuddy, but think this problem has gotten way out of hand. It should have been (natively) flying for over a year now .
