wasnt outdated too much, the author had updated it, and soon had it pulled due to people not being appreciative, and extensive whining, they have said that they will be updating it to viscious as well as the jp, heirlooms, and trade goods, but wether or not they release it is anybodys guess
Everytime someone makes a request for this the Mod's come in warning about how Shazz's mod was requested to be taken down and anyone updating it and posting it (or asking for it repetitively) will be suspended.
Well, how about this then, we are NOT requesting his plugin anymore - since he took his ball and left. If anyone here can throw together a quick plugin that exchanges only the honor points for justice points - we'd be thrilled and greatly appreciative! And if you wanna do a complete rewrite of the plugin, then we'd be even more thrilled! While it be nice if he reposted it, he's obviously all upset about the 1 or 2 whiners who ruin it for everyone.
If anyone decides to make a new one, just don't throw a fit when 1 or 2 adolescent whiners come in QQ-ing expecting you to cater to their every need. You won't owe them anything and don't even interact with their expectations pretending you do, and I for one (as well as others I'm sure) will tell them to go fly a kite.
So you actually think, i took it down because of 2 people whining? some people are just ignorant i guess.
If i tell you, that for more than 1k downloads, a total of 3 rep and 3 likes was recieved. Do you actually think that encourages anyone to use alot of their time writing and updating it?
it's also weird that you're going to talk like that, as you (within a few hours) came crawling asking me to make you a tester.
Also if you would take your time to look around the forum then you would see, that someone actually did take on the challenge (do some research before posting) of writing his own new plugin without stealing my code.
Let it go Zachary.....
I used to use that plugin. The topic was full of posts saying "awesome plugin" but Shak only looks at rep and likes. Then there were a couple "Awesome plugin. Would it be possible to add X?" and there was a fit of rage (I know this because I was one of the posters).
You are right; I am one of those that hasn't got a clue about how to "like" or how to "rep". I see the heart at the top of a topic but for the life of me can't figure out how to add my own (without linking my Facebook to this forum; something I'm never going to do since I value my WoW account).
I'm sorry that Shak took things the wrong way but I do agree with you, Zach, that some people take this whole Interwebz shizzle too personal.
I'm not ignorant, if you took it down because you want more "likes" thats even worse. Most people don't even know how to [like] on these boards. I've been here a while and only found it (it is confusing for some), because a cc creator mentioned he liked getting [likes].
Don't take everything so personal. It shows you are by defining me asking you to test it as "coming crawling to you". Is that really how you see it? I merely told you it sucks about the whiners, and said your plugin was awesome (which it is), and encouraged you to not let them get to you.
I [liked] and repped you for it, so why you getting on me about stating the obvious? How am I "talking like this"? I'm merely pointing out that you got upset over the minority kid's qquing - posted a mod and requested it be taken down because you were upset at them. So now we find out it's because you wanted more rep/likes...
It's not like you found the cure to cancer man.. you posted a plugin. Don't take that statement the wrong way, but think about it actually. Your plugin rocks, it makes the members in the communities lives a lot easier, it makes HonorBuddy a MUCH better purchase... but I think you are taking this wayyy too personal and overthinking it.
If you have the skills to contribute the community and do, I'll be the first one to thank you. But lets be a bit realistic about shall we?
Take care
To me, that sounds pretty much like an accusation of me, being too weak to handle 2 whiners. (though it might not be intentionally). If anyone decides to make a new one, just don't throw a fit when 1 or 2 adolescent whiners come in QQ-ing expecting you to cater to their every need. You won't owe them anything and don't even interact with their expectations pretending you do, and I for one (as well as others I'm sure) will tell them to go fly a kite.
the true fact that there is something wrong on this forum when people start thinking it is mandatory to have all the functions made by other botters?
But is this really the case? If it is, I agree 100%. But I honestly believe there is something to the fact that "Liking/Thanking/Repping", w/e you wanna call it, is like playing a game of where's waldo on these forums.
I found it, because I stopped and took the time to learn how to do it.
Most people are used to Facebook (and other easier style boards), where if there is a "thanks" or even better, a "like" button.
If the boards added this, I would bet money you'd see people showing their thanks more for your work. Just because they don't click the thanks post, doesn't mean they are not truly grateful.
And if you do not feel like releasing new updates, then why not leave the plugin for others to edit your code and re-release it? I can't write my own plugin, but I can take the time (usually takes a lot of it too) to update things when those with the skills do not.
For example, right now between a lot of class work, I'm trying to learn how to make my own CC's. So far it's not working out too well.
The Rep/thanking/liking is definetly a problem, and i think one of the problems (beside the fact that it's hard to find the buttons) is, that people don't think about it untill they need it.
As someone said in the other thread, then it also comes from the fact, that since people bought Honorbuddy, then they're entitled to the requests they want. Which also decreases the need for thanking the author.
So you actually think, i took it down because of 2 people whining? some people are just ignorant i guess.

75% of my posts are supporting devs wether with logs, ideas, etc, and I'm pretty sure I never gave rep or like, for me its not a button that will decide if you support/care or not
Ye same, well i give rep every now and then but in my opinion it feels too unpersonal and i'd rather write and say thanks instead. Its like giving someone one of those mass-printed birthdaycards and not bothering to sign it
As far as the like button goes i'd never thouch it because i dont really want all my facebook friends to know i bot. If i've misunderstood it and its only forum related then maybe i'll start using it
