Since buying a new account is so cheap now, i've been thinking of buying a account just to bot ores and herbs. But I wonder, is there any chance that they will IP-ban me? I will bot on my computer and I also want to RaF with that account so that I get the new recruit a friend account, might that increase the chances of my main account getting banned aswell? I will use another name ofc, so they might think its my brother or something that bought the account, but I have gotten 72 hour banned on my main account 3 months ago, and after that I stopped botting. Now I only bot LFR and BGs but with an average of 20-30 minutes/day.

Thanks in advance

I would never run HB on the computer I use for my main account - plain simple..

But it's still the same IP adress? Would it really make any difference if I bot on my main computer, or if I would have to buy a new laptop just to bot with? It's basically the same thing? Blizzard sees the IP adress and not the computer right?

IT sees what account you bot on then. I always had 2 account, bot both, and 1 account got banned, still botted on second, bought new games on same account, they survived ban wave and shit. Probably a report system they are using. Because i always gotten banned during bg or ginding/heb/mining. Nothing else. Ive been banned 5 times total.

And if they want they can see your ip yes, and ban you just because they can. -even a legit account. Dont see how anyone would win a lawsuit against blizzard...

"This is from own experience"

Forgot to mention, my both account are on same computer, shared ip.

Using a bot (in any capacity) will increase your chances of being banned. There is no one single method to reduce the risk. Partly because blizzard will not ever release the the details of how and why they ban.

I can tell you that in my experience, I have RaF'd a 2nd account that got banned after I hit lvl 90 on it and started farming. My "main" account was not banned, and after a conversation with a GM (months later) about multi-boxing, I was told that I had no "flags" or anything listed on my main account that would indicate it was ever reported or reviewed for illegal activity. He could have been lying, but I don't see why he would have. My GM Ticket had nothing to do with botting. Only with MultiBoxing.

Both were played on the same PC, sometimes at the same time.

The general rule of thumb is, don't bot unless you are willing to lose your accounts. At some point, you may lose everything. Plain and simple.
