so I'm totally new to honorbuddy and started bgbot today everything is find til a friend of mine told me stop it because there is a banwave which i didn't know what does even mean until now so I'm wondering if its save to use it now or wait a few days , weeks i dont know ! thanks .

I usually use bot in BG to gear up my new toons before i go farming, have found healers to act best or more "human" than others, especially melee's.
However, i never leave my PC when im in a BG with a Bot. If you get stuck, or bot suddenly acts strange you will have a ton of player reports right at you. so, "Bot safe"

Banwaves are (typically) rare and only happen all at once.
When it does, anyone using the bot will be banned.
After the banwave is gone, you usually won't see another one for a very long time.
You shouldn't fear the banwave, but instead fear general bans.
General bans occur when so many players report you, or you've botted too long.
Specific things also trigger it to occur faster. People say BGBotting is one of those 'things.'
Botting in moderation will help reduce the chance of you getting banned from a 'general ban.'

Monzer assuming you are aware that botting is never 100% safe and you may very well get banned eventually, you should do some forum searches on bgbuddy, bg's, etc. There are lots of discussions and theories about bot safety, some people are convinced Honorbuddy is 100% detectable, some others aren't as sure. However, one thing that I'm sure everyone agrees on is that one of the most common ways botters get 'caught' is when another player reports you because your toon is acting very bot-like. Nobody is in your garrison to see you bot, but everybody and their mother will report anybody they even remotely suspect of botting while in a bg. It royally pisses people off, and I've been in bg's where a player pointed out the bot and got everyone else in the bg to report him too.
BGbuddy is totally totally not safe, avoiding using a bot in bg's will almost certainly reduce the chance of you getting banned for botting. It may still happen eventually, but the less you interact with other players while botting, the safer you are.

I know there are people out there that bot in bg, and there are plenty who are probably very careful with top-quality CR's and such and as a result they have less of a chance of being banned than someone new to botting just jumping into bg's 24/7. They're probably willing and expectful of the bans they receive as well. But after this year's events and the cr4ckdown we appear to be seeing, IMHO it seems like bg botting can be looked at as game abuse. I missed the Glider glory days, but bgbotting CAN be really obvious and there's like 10 times the chance that someone or multiple people will report you if they even have the slightest suspicion you may be botting. Since so many people are sensitive about pvp, and since you're directly influencing dozens of other players while doing it, you could argue that bgbotting is almost like a game exploit. Maybe a 2nd cousin. It's not the "victimless crime" that using gatherbuddy/garrisonbuddy/leveling alts is.
I'm posting this whole schpiel because (once again IMHO) I think that the pvp botting is the biggest reason Blizzard is cr4cking down on botting. Sure, it's against the TOS and bla-bla but nobody here actually believes that Blizzard OPPOSES us buying an extra account or an extra 15 accounts and giving them regular money. They're pretty much forced to hand out suspensions and bans in response to the massive whining of other players who complain and threaten to leave wow (yeah right). The whole situation is probably too far along now for it to change, but I bet it's possible that botters would get the microscope taken off of them if nobody used bots in bg, or if Bossland removed BGbuddy. Think about how many less reports Blizzard would get if no one was reporting bg bots.
Of course this would royally tick off a lot of botters who BG a lot and who don't care about losing accounts regularly, but still. Just my two cents, I'm not starting a campaign or anything.
Bossland know what is the reason for bans. Most of us know same.

Don't use Honorbuddy at all if you don't want to risk losing your account. Especially not BGbuddy. I believe BGbuddy is the nr 1 reason people get banned. Also, Honorbuddy has had 2 huge banwaves this year. One in May and one recenly in December. It is only a matter of time before you get banned. Cause it will happen.
Unless you don't care about your account at all, then bot away. But still avoid BGbuddy.
Also, don't let people talk you into "smart botting". There is no such thing as smart botting. Use HB and you will get banned. Period.

I disagree Smart botting is important if u care about keeping your account. I mean have had a few throw away account where I botted 24/7 that got banned but thats my fault no HB or the profile maker. I didnt get hit in the last 2 ban waves and my account is going strong. I try and thinking about what blizzard could be doing to find bots. Like for me I dont use Garrison Buddy or anything like that how hard would it be for Blizzard to follow the pathing of say 900+ toons walking in the same path over and over. Which I believe they do cause if u remember in mop alot of gatherbuddy profiles was hits due to that very same reason. BGbuddy u can tell right away who the bots are just watching. The person that uses a CR with movement set by hand and Interrupts are less likely to get banned.

You may disagree. But look at the may banwave. There was an obvious detection within a specific amount of time. People who botted before or after the detection or scanning period were not hit. If you botted within that timeframe you got banned. No matter how "careful" you botted. If you botted 30 sec or 30 hours. There was no difference. I take the May banwave as an example because I was hit by that one myself. I stopped botting eversince. I think the same thing happened for the December banwave.
But imo botting with HB is never safe again after the 2 large banwaves. And for those who say it was never safe. Yes it was unless you did something stupid back then like botting 24/7 botting BG's non stop or grinding pretty much everything you did over the top. Or if your bot got stuck during questing. Nowdays Blizzard has found a way to track us down regardless of what you use the bot for. Perhaps several ways. And they will do a clean out every 6 months. Also. Don't forget that they might change their tactic on that. Cause now everyone assumes they have 6 months to suicide bot. They might change it to 3 months instead. Who knows? It would be too obvious to continue a pattern like that.

Im sure there was a detection of HB last banwave. I got 2 accounts banned, one of which i only turned it on for 5 minutes 2 weeks before the bans came to check dualboxing with HB instead of a multibox tool.
On my other account i never pvped, but i raided with a bot sometimes.. as i did on the evening of the ban.
My gf's account which i never botted on, but did start from the same pc my other 2 accounts got banned from didnt get the ban. Just to say they didnt blanket ban every account on the pc.
For me its fine, it gives me time to detox from wow and i would be back in time for Legion where i wont bot anymore..
