Hb not connecting to Windows Vista

a friend of mine is trying to connect HB on Windows Vista.. he has been playing already , but when he download the last two releases. the bot never starts but it shows up in the processes as running. please read what i said.. it has already worked until the last two releases....



ps. he is at a hotel connecting through their free net services. could that in any way conflict HB connecting? wow connects though.
 
...........what functions does he not have.......... he has already used the bot for a year now,nothing has changed on his computer.. he downloaded 5462 and it didn't work. download 5494 and it does the same thing.

Could it be some sort of port not open? He's playing from a hotel and says he installed a new wireless USB modem. It did work in 62 up until today... updated and not working in 94.

No. He upated windows yesterday morning. I even connected through teamspeak with him . And seen hb running in the processes . But never popping up on his desktop or anywhere else.

Posting form Chemical's Computer:

Fresh install on HB, still no luck. I rolled back my computer till a few days ago when I knew it was working, no Luck. The only thing that has changed that I think may be causing an issue is the Wireless USB card that I installed, that is what I'm connected to the internet with. No other options for connecting.
I have checked to make sure I have the latest driver on the wireless USB device, it is updated.

I will also note that Curse-Client seemed to stop working around the same time and seems to be giving similar behavior.

Just an idea, could this wireless device somehow have a port disabled by default that HB uses?

apoc mentioned something to someone about this - search the forums for FontFamily and see if those things fix it

if not, you'll have to wait for Tony, Apoc, or Nesox to figure it out :(
 
Tony you're about 7-8hours ahead of us. You werent online when he got online

Font install suggested by Tony didn't work either...

I want to also note that my .bin files ie. the data file in the main HB folder, are set to open with default program VLC. Not sure how or when It was changed or even it could be causing a problem. If that might cause a problem what could I change the default program to for opeing .bin files with HB?
