I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get honorbuddy to work in linux mint (project rebecca), I was thinking of going to linux as an OS an dont wanna go if I cant use all my normal programs.

HB works on win 8.1 perfect... And on Linux too - if you installing VMware + virtual windows machine)

We do not have a native linux version. Sure you can install a virtual machine on linux running HB with windows but this makes no sense at all.
Performance is poor and you always need a license for the virtual machines software (vmware is fastest) and windows. Cost and performance
make this solutions totally stupid.

Simply run the bot on Windows as its designed for this.
No support for other OS, no support for Win10 and no support for HB in a virtual machine, sorry :)

I have a laptop with Linux running a few VMs of W7 and W8.1 - works just fine.
But I have been THIS close to getting Honorbuddy run 'natively' on Linux (via Wine), the only problem is .NET Framework 4.5.x.
I've had it start up, but then almost instantly crash (which is actually really hard getting it to start at all :D)
WoW is ultra easy to get working, and can actually be done in a single command from a fresh Linux install (Wine -> Update Wine -> Download Battle.net -> Install Battle.net)

I respect you Mr. Admin, but in my opinion it makes a lot of sense :)
I've done a lot of testing from a different internet (I have two completely independent connections) and from an external view I see the same IP, but the virtual MAC address only.
On an i7-720QM 2.8GHz, 4GB 1066MHz, HD5650M and 500GB 5400RPM HDD (4C/8T CPU, slow RAM and old low-mid end mobile GPU) I'm getting 30FPS (locked to 30, might be more) on two VMs with low settings 1336x768.
Security is very important to me, even if it may seem excessive :)

did u try this for getting HB to work on linux ? Home | Mono
I will definitely look in to this :)

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but has one successfully gotten HB to run on Linux (without a VM)?

I tried installing all the necessary dependencies in a wineprefix using winetricks, but constantly had issues with .NET 3.0 erroring out during installing.

Update: Can get .Net installed up to 4.5 but when I try to open HB, I get an error saying 4.5.1 is required. I can't seem to get it installed and it is not available on winetricks or in PlayonLinux. Installing it from the offline or web installers always fails saying it is not compatable with this operating system.

Update 2: Once you change the OS on your wineprefix to Windows 7, the .Net 4.5.3 will install over 4.5 (which you should install via PlayOnLinux or WineTricks. Even after adding C++ 2013 Redistributable, I'm still getting crashes when I try to launch HB. Unfortunately the Wine error message doesn't give me much to go on.

Honestly with only Win10 being supported by Microsoft here in the US, i think there should be a LINUX version of HB. Once you no longer have a valid copy of Win 7...ect your kinda stuck. On a side note has anyone ever taken a look at
[h=1]wowbashbot ? I'm not recommending using it but just a look at the code, since it is open source, to how it works? [/h]

Just because they dont offer support to Win10, dosnt mean in dont run in Win10..
Havent had any problems at all after updating to 10..

WOW works fine in Linux via Wine. However, HB will not work because of the .NET problems. This is reported to WineHQ, so maybe we have a better try in the future if they can fix it.

Not really what I was saying. i know it works with Win10 i just dont use Win10 for various reasons.

You were saying the opposite, as far as I could make out. Which still doesn't make sense.
This thread was made when HB used NET 4.5.1+ and C++ 2013, now it's been updated to NET 4.6 and C++ 2015, so WINE support may be even further in to the future.

4.6 has a garbage rating on wines appdb : WineHQ - .NET Framework 4.6
I also doubt that mono supports this major version already.
Will try this weekend how far we can come :)

I am super interested in having HB working under linux... ^^
Please do let us know how you get around... I am running WoW under wine with no problems on an ArchLinux system so far...

I've done a lot of testing from a different internet (I have two completely independent connections) and from an external view I see the same IP, but the virtual MAC address only.

How did you get 30FPS on a VM ? I am very curious... did you do a GPU passthrough ? Please let me know your settings and what kind of VM you use to get so many FPS... I only get around 3-5fps (on lowest settings possible...) and it's almost unusable for HB... getting too many deaths/hr... and stucks.

Security is very important to me, even if it may seem excessive :)
Same here ^^

Thanks all

VMWare Workstation/Player, but I've stopped using it.
When you install VMWare Tools (drivers etc), there's a checkbox for 3D options.
No GPU passthrough, it's a laptop.

Sorry ? since when don't you support Windows 10 ? I thought you have supported it since it was RTM ?

I think they're just saying Windows 10 is a mess, and they can't officially support it :)
It obviously work, but I wouldn't use it for a 24/7 bot machine.
