If Bossland and everyone else knew that the patch would be coming i assume the were on the PTR or read about most of the changes coming to WoW, So why wouldnt they get a head start and start fixing The bot now? i mean i know alot of the code would be missing due to the patch no being released but atleast you could have got a headstart, So why wait until it is released to actually start working on it?

Also I am sure they did a fair bit of work whilst it was on PTR, however the PTR gets updated so frequently that it is probably so much more work.

Of course they were working on the newer version before the patch, but there is only so much they are able to do without the actual release. Then once patch it, some minor things probably changed. Rome wasnt built in a day. Neither was HB.

Ok... Im gonna ask simply for the fact of understanding it: Why do people defend bot creators and their team so dearly? I mean, I have botted for every game I have played and everytime someone says something KINDA against the bot's team, another person gets totally defensive. I have asked myself the same question as the above and I really dont see anything wrong with that. It is not like the guy gets this service for free! If you think about it, all we get for the money is the bot itself because we (the users) have to create the profiles so, isnt that the only thing Bossland and his team should worry about? The bot itself?

For example, since the auth crash we had no new stable HB versions and nothing was said about it... not even "we're just getting prepared for patch 4.01". I just dnt see why ppl would go defending a company for basically no reason and more stupidely, user against user. I love the buddy products because they are the safest out there and it takes work to keep it that way but it wouldnt hurt a daily update per say.

Why do we defend them? Because they can do shit we can't. Like program bots. And put up with dumbasses WITHOUT rage exploding every few moments on the forums. That's what I'm here for...

I don't mind being a jerk. Sometimes the jerk is just the most honest person in the room. Funny you seem to complain about no stable versions of HB. Aside from the one turd version that came out, which others are the problem? I've not stopped botting for weeks. Do I have an occasional crash? Yes. Do I call it unstable? No. It's no more so than ANY other program that does what it does. You may have THOUGHT about the question above, but did you try and think of an answer that didn't include you being a sad panda in the equation? Do you need it explained to you? If you do, tough. Search through all the other threads as to why programming the bot for the PTR doesn't work, and really only creates MORE work for them to do. While I'm sure Boss and his crew spend way more time snorting blow off hooker's asses than the rest of us, you act as though they're not actually providing a service in a timely manner. How fast do you think they should have "your" personalized bot back up and running for you?

You have to do all that hard work of making profiles? Holy shit you're right. Everyone should use exactly the same profiles. Imagine thousands of bots farming the exact same mobs/nodes on every server. Why it would be a fucking perfect utopia wouldn't it. Hell they should make it so only they can make the profiles. That would certainly lighten up their workload. Shit Boss, could you blacklist this node in Scholazar Basin, it's right next to this tree. And there were monkeys there. Have you checked there post counts? The do make an appearance on here every now and then.

And the OP lied. This is another dumb thread. Does he seriously believe they were NOT working on it prior to the patch going live? Please someone revoke his account. Please. He's going to get all of us caught with his deep thinking.

I defend the bot team simply because common sense should tell you that when there are patches in a game, a bot will need to be fixed. If you dont know this before you buy something, then your just being stupid. You cant possibly expect a bot team to release a completely fixed working SAFE bot the moment a patch goes live. Im sure they could release something now but it probably wont be finished or as safe as it needs to be. Trust me, I am no HB staff lover. Sure they have some good people, but I have also had my issues with them as everyone has.

Let me put it this way as a business owner. No matter how much planning you have knowing there is a change coming up, there really is no way to the exact change till it happens. Sure the Dev team may have the core of it down, but until it is live and they are able to fix the parts that need it and test it they are in the dark like the rest of us. I don't think it is about defending the company per say as much as it is about trying to explain the workings of software and all that goes with it. Part of the confusion here is that the DDOS attacks have been the main focus for the last 2-3weeks, now the patch releases and they are working on it.

They did say hb/gb would be down 7 days due to the patch and perhaps they should have given a much more detailed explanation so that everyone would understand the how and why of the long downtime, I don't know I'm not the PR person or communications director here.

As a software user of many programs it is ultimately up to me to read release notes, as much as I hate too. Also remember this isn't a big company it is just a handful of people trying to multitask many things and keep a few products top notch.

To be honest I think the bots is most liekly already updated BUT!, why release it straight away? Yes indeed because it will most likely contain bugs and errors.
A while ago bossland told the forum people that there would be only quality releases coming. Just see this as that moment. They update to 4.0.1 then they update all default cc's, then they test it trougly!! A must. Then the cc devs get a copy or so and fix there cc. Tadaaa a working 4.0.1 ready working bot because if u saw the previous releases they where hasty and then releases it, and after 5 min of fame the first user would post a bug/error. So to awnaser your question, yes they prolly have been on beta and ptr, but there prolly bug test/fixing hb/gb.

i said this once and ill say it again. i know you have made your money back by using the bot. from all the bots i've used this is the most active staff i have seen. if i am correct tony did make a post saying they were taking HB down and said don't make any threads about your Hb not working.

And i think it was APoc or another Dev that said they usually have it updated within 1 day, but test it out for a few days to make sure everything is running up to par. plus the guy who started this thread answered his own post. maybe he had a brain fart.
you can't expect Bossland to do everything, of course people have to make their own profiles. i know if i made this bot i wouldn't want every single person bothering me everyday because of a profile that i made for a bot that i made wasn't working for him. it's a team effort. be a team player

You do realize it takes ~8 hours max to update the bot. They are running the piss out of the bot testing it against any new security measures. How pissed would you be if they gave you the bot on the first day and every account you had got banned. Just for one account using the bot. Yes. It "COULD" happen. Not saying it would. But a hard detection isn't reversible. So let them test it, and get any bugs it caused out and be quiet.

This is not coming from a paying user, a fan, or any other partisan idea. This is coming from someone that doesn't wan't to lose their account, and understands that the only way to prove your security works is to test it.

So once again I ask. Who would you rather risk losing 30 accounts? You? or Bossland?

This team works hard for this community, and they understand that people are paying for their shit. Also, bossland posted 2 days before the patch, thats fair enough leeway. I look at other bot communities, and I don't see nearly as much coordination between the users and the devs. These guys are safe and they care for their community.

It really dont matter how long the bot is down. After the 3.5 patch the bot was down for almost a week and when released was horrible.It took months to get it sorted out. The exact thing will happen here again with this patch. I just hope we have HB1 to fall back on like we have after every other patch.
And for those who complain about no one posted anything other than one post saying HEY! will be down for a week , get used to it. These guys are horrible at keep us up to date about what is going on. If you want proof, just check the announcement section of the forums. Unlike most internet companies/services, its pretty much empty. Either way i just hope they get GB up quick so i can make gold

The team i imagine does work hard, And when you go and read all the changes on the PTR and stuff, You should see that they are changing talents and everything so why not start early? Go and change a bunch of the bot to fit the PTR, No not the offset's because those change more often than i change my underwear, but i mean honestly is it that hard to re-do the talents and your ability's ? not really. Im no grade A programmer but i know a fair bit of stuff. My OP, Was not in tent of getting a bunch of people to flame it was a simple question and of course i should of known little 12 year olds would cry about a honest answer, I paid for this bot, is it to much so ask for a mod or someone to give me a quick reply? And now you people are going to be like "There busy updating the bot you cant expect them to reply to every little thread" Well actually i do expect them to reply, Bossland is the creator he has people to help him with the bot, And others with the forum's, Why hire Forum mod's if alls there gunna do is Close thread's and reply the same old answer "Were working in it" Or "PM bossland" And when a major problem come's like the Auth servers people made thread's and of course tony is the first to answer with " Working on it" when in reality they didnt even have a clue people couldnt connect.

You buy a computer you expect it to some warranty.

For real? they spent all last week trying to get there auth server's to work -- Yes quality releases.

And honestly there is about as much up time as down time.
