HB Crashing Wow upon exit - Log attached

Ok... I've seen this for awhile but have never run any specific tests and haven't posted a log because Tony's first response is always 'run WoW with no addons' and I like running with a couple of them.

So... this morning I had loaded Wow and HB and then was watching tv... never actually even started HB - but when I closed it down, it locked and crashed Wow! So I figured it was time for a test.

I loaded Wow back up and turned off ALL addons... I hit DISABLE ALL and then loaded my toon. Loaded HB... let it sit there for 10 seconds and then hit the X to shut down HB... Wow lock and crash.

Repeated... same results.

I don't see anything in the logs... but they are attached. I honestly don't have a strong system right now but it certainly isn't being bogged down and causing the crash with zero Wow addons and everything running smoothly - and HB never even started. It isn't WoW addons, don't have any loaded.

running Win XP SP3 with full updates.

Everything generally works with HB when I do run it other then every now and then (typically 1 in maybe 5 or 6) BGs it will actually crash in the middle of it... but I've noted that most of the time that happens, it's when things are pretty bogged down so I don't think that's likely HB.

So... hopefully this will help nail down why HB is crashing WoW.

Try some of these advices.

1. As far as i consider there is no problem with HB? More likley your computer. Try to run Memtest86+ (Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool) To check your memory , (witch i doubt it is)

2. Check the error loggs in you WoW folder.

3. Click Start then Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintance, then click Admin Tools and then Computer Manegement. Now you should see something called Even Wiever ( IF there is something wrong with your computer)

4. Right click on the WoW icon, Properties, Compatibility and try to check some of the things under Settings.

Tell us more about the Wow crash. Does you get the "Not Responding" one?

Ok... more info:

- My computer has no other problems at any other time. It doesn't crash, it doesn't bog down too much (as I've said before, it's not a very fast system with only 3 gigs or ram... it will be replaced early next year after Christmas). The only time I've ever seen this is during the situation above - can run WoW for hours with zero problems. Can even run it with HB running MOST of the time with very few problems. BUT closing HB crashes Wow routinely.

- I'm at work now so I can't check the Wow logs - will do when I get home.

- Don't know why I would have to run WoW in compatibility mode while running XP. (Keep in mind that I provide IT Support - it's what I do '9-5', so I don't just 'click buttons' for the sake of clicking buttons... I look for why the buttons would need to be clicked). I've been working with computers as a tech since the early 80s so I've got me a little experience... lol (in the Navy it wasn't my primary job, but I did it for about 10 of my 20+ years)

- The Wow crash goes like this... I'll be running everything as normal and I purposely position my toon where I can see something moving in the Wow screen (waving fire from a lantern - something that is animated). I started doing that once I realized that Wow was crashing regularly and when I have something animated in the screen, I know within 1 second whether it's going to crash. The animation will freeze, and then I'll get the 2 windows popup with a Wow crash report... which I never send in of course.

I can check more info but it will be later once I get home. By all means, let me know what you think I should check and post... I'll gladly do that to help fix this annoying issue.

Well try to change map destination? If im not mistaken, i see you have different HDD's? . If may not be the problem but you could try atleast to have HB's map on C and mesh on C, or even try to move WoW map to another disk.I guess you have tried to reinstall HB aswell.

The problem is that bug logg doesnt say anything at all so its hard to diagnose :/

Lol... yea... this has actually gone on for me for awhile, I just never put the details up because I always had a few Wow addons running. I knew that would be the first thing ppl would point at. So this morning when it happened without even starting HB, I decided to give it a test with shutting down the addons.

I'll change my mesh folder - yea... I used to run off the C: drive but that install became too bogged down with installed crap, so I'm not running off a more streamlined Windows install on my E drive, and also run wow from there. So, if you think that moving them all to the same drive could help, then it would mean creating a new HB install on my E drive - not changing my mesh folder. I could try running HB from my E drive when I get home and see if that changes anything.

BTW - not actually seperate HDs, just a larger one partitioned into 3.

Sorry for the delay... but just did some testing with the new version.

At first I did what I've always done up to this point. I copied from my main hb-5494 directory, making one just for my hunter - added the plugins and his CC and then started HB after I loaded Wow. I stopped it and once again it crashed Wow. (BTW - I now run Wow and HB from my E drive so the mesh is correctly on the E drive as well).

I then just downloaded a completely plain version of Ver 5494 and ran it and there was no crash. Added the plugins to the plugin directory and then it did crash, even without running HB as before. Then I removed the Plugins (Mr. Item Remover, Racial Trinket and Flagcapture) and just opened HB... this time it didn't crash when I exited.

BUT... it did crash after I started HB and ran it... then stopped it and then exited HB.

So... I'm thinking it's just that my machine is weaker and causing the problems... I don't think it's anything to do with HB or the plugins since I don't really see a pattern other than it may have to do with loading...

So... although I had several logs, after the last round of results, I don't see a reason to post them. I should be getting a new computer early next year... that should make things work alot better.
