Hello, from like two days i got the following problems with HB.

- The HB just crashes, sometimes it will work for few minutes, sometimes just at start, sometimes will work a bit longer
- HB just goes out of sync, sometimes at start, sometimes after a short while (restarting HB helps)
- HB does not remember the character settings, after normal closing, HB changes settings like "find vendors automatically", "kill between hotspots", "use flight paths" etc. The plugins settings are ok
- HB gets an error "could read bytes from xxx [299]

I have done a fresh re install, using default plugin set + Shut me up AIML, using only cava and kick lvling pack.

Also: is there a way to make BG bot look not so bottish ? I got a 72 ban for that :)

do you have any wow addons enabled?

also tried to run Hb using only the essential plugins?

No addons on wow, and yes, when i run only default plugins the problem remains

The error, and crashes problem is solved, i reinstaled WOW and HB to tally fresh.

But still HB does not remmember the settings of the toons - is it possible to make 1 setting fiole for all toons ? And i meant the toons i will be lvling and the ones that are curently lvl'ed, so i dont need to change it every time i add a new toon to lvl ?? It would be a superb feature i think

on what profile are you?

probably you are on a profile that messes with user settings

Im using only kick's questing profile pack or cava questing profile. And i was thinking about that also, but i lvl 10 chars from 80 to 90, and the settings change random, so if it still can be the profile, any solution ? Would be very gratefull.

Kick's profiles and cava's (if i am right) are messing with user profiles often

Oh, thx a lot, shouldnt blame HB at the first place then, are there any alternative Questing packs wich arent messing tho'z settings ?

Kick's are the most popular profiles,if you edit it one time you will be ok

I just checked kick's lvling pack topic and found to clues hot to make such edit, any hints ? Thanks in advance

Hi, Stalker,

Glad you got your first problem repaired, and very sorry it took a WoW re-install to do it.

As to your second problem...
Any time you want to make changes to your settings file, you must stop Honorbuddy, make your changes, then restart Honorbuddy.

Tony is right that profile writers alter your settings as they execute. But, they should be restoring them when the particular setting is no longer need. For instance, let's take the typical escort quest... you don't want the toon running off to harvest herbs or minerals in the middle of an escort, so the profile will temporarily turn these harvests off, then restore them when the escort is complete.

Another example... Doing the quest Hue, skinning must be turned off during the quest. If not, then Honorbuddy will skin the mob immediately after battle, and the profile has no chance to use the Delicate Shearing Knife to produce the necessary quest item.

There are dozens and dozens of scenarios where setting simply must be altered for proper profile operation. As a result, you don't want to go messing around with editing these profiles. The profile authors have done the testing necessary to assure success, and messing with the profile may cause you to get hung doing a quest indefinitely.

cheers,
china
