HB and Windows 8

Well, when i run HB in Win8, WoW crashes.. (no error, just "Program World of Warcraft Retail stopped working...")

Is that problem with windows?
(will be there support for it?)

According to WOW Bots Gatherbuddy & Honorbuddy this should work.

Works on WIN 98 to W8

Honorbuddy runs on all Windows systems, however we recomend Windows XP SP3 or higher

They won't support it until final version of Window 8 is released. Honestly I probably won't be going back to windows7, so no more botting for me.

I've found windows 8 to be just as stable as windows7 and all my other apps work properly.

Soooo that being said, if you guys ever want someone to test HB on Windows8.. I'm your guy

chances are if you installed the developer preview or the consumer preview, your going to have to reinstall when the final version comes out anyway. until microsoft finally releases the thing, theres no point in making changes to something only a small number of people want to use, and thats going to be changing soon anyway.

well,
WoW is running on low graphic setting, DX9, 32bit client
HB is downloaded fresh, in different folder than before, set on compatibilty setting and using admin rights.

but when it goes to "attaching" part WoW freezes and then common "Program stopped working.." window pops up.

Well right, i partially thought that. And yes i just because i hadn?t blank DVD to install somwhere else, i just did direct upgrade.

EDIT: lol even after wow crased & was closed, HB went "Initializing" but got stucked on "Please wait a few seconds while Honorbuddy initializes."

How is windows 8? My little brother and I went on an adventure to the junkyard one day and build him a computer from scraps we found. Then we installed a preview version of windows 8 on it. It ran a bit slow on the junkyard computer, so we went with windows 7 (which has been great).

I wasn't super exited with the default interface. I'm not a fan of desktop environments or interfaces that want me to click on a big icon that opens up a screen of big icons for me to choose from. When the microsoft office interface changed, it killed ms word for me. I'm just now starting to warm up to it.

Well its not so bad when you get used to jump between Metro and regular desktop. Also many people says it runs smooth on slower/older PC?s (like way better than Vista)
Everything else seems even more user-friendly than ever but i dont think it does make ppl upgrade from Win7 (aka when its working, dont touch it..)

It's actually pretty nice. I agree about the metro interface... hopefully there is a way to default to only the standard interface by the final launch. I can see it dominating in business environments and average users, but for us crazies.. it's a little "too simple."
