Hi there,

I am currently using HB on one account, and then I have my main acc. where I do not bot.

Is it safe to run both the bot and playing the main at the same time on the same pc? If not, is there anything I can do to protect my main acc while doing it? Anyone got some experience to share?
I don't care about the bot acc. I just don't want my main to be banned.

I have been googling it, and found some answers from like 2 years ago, so Im not sure if they are still valid.
Someone said that making a VM would solve the problem, but is it really necessary?

I will make as little interaction between the accounts as possible, and only through a guild.

Thanks.

Your main account would be safe from player reports - that said, the MAIN problem lately has been the bot being flat out detected. If it's detected, than it's detected on your PC... You will most likely, 99.999% chance lose every wow account that has been played on that pc.

I've seen some people suggest VM's while other's warn against using them because they believe playing from VM's throw up red flags to blizzard. These are people's opinions and I haven't seen evidence either way.

Personally, I'm not using this bot again until at least a month into Legion.

I've just been following along here on the forums to see if there are any changes. From what I've been seeing here, it seems blizzard have really stepped up their game trying to catch botters and it might not be worth using HB for anything other than suicide gold farming accounts.

As the HB team warns all over this forum, you risk losing a main account if you use HB. Now more than ever, in fact i'd say at this point with complete confidence (despite what some trolls on here say) you're not risking losing the account - its guaranteed to happen at some point.

over the last year I've had a legit account and 2-3 others botting in the background. My legit account is still going strong. I did have an experience in where I had 3 licenses on a battl.netwith the 4th being self played. They banned the 3 battle.nets + the 4th in a wave that I was playing manually by hand but I'm not 100% sure I never used HB with it. I would recommend having one computer for botting, and another for playing legit just to be 100% safe but I think theyre detection methods if you're investigated can show whats attached to each licence. (process)

VM wares, changing IP addresses, changing hard drives etc etc is all circumstantial and I'd hazard a guess a total waste of time. I've botted multiple accounts, multiple suicide sessions over the last 7 years on the same computer, same internet connection and I have never felt "unfairly detected". I've never been "instantly" detected outside of a wave nor have I ever been banned without playing stupid and botting for over 20+ hours a day. People think blizzard "flag you" or some such rubbish which in my experience is totally false. If they literally flagged people or targeted them I'd be getting banned constantly. I used to sell roughly 50k gold a day in MOP and would often have 5-7 accounts going at once pick pocketing until they added code to detect pick pocketing rogues.

The bottom line is, if you're reported enough and investigated you're going to be banned. If there's a wave and you're online when they do scans, you're going to be banned. No amount of VM wares or changing hardware IDS is going to save you from that.

They do flag accounts, just like they did the 8th.

By the time tripwire shutdowns the bot, the accounts are already tagged and will be banned in a future wave.

Also, they do have serverside detection scripts that they use on suicidebotters.

This kind of scares me since I will start with 1-2 accounts but I have never seen anyone got banned on his main account based on running bots on the same PC. AFAIK, they only ban licences that had suspicious activity.

I only have one PC. I will only run the bot accounts when my main account is off (which I heard is much safer). Otherwise is running bot accounts on the same PC really that unsafe? I would love so more opinions on this before I start my journey !

I am 95% sure they only ban accounts per license. I have a lot of friends who have botted with several accounts on their main battle.net account over several years, and it's only on the license the bot is injected to that they ban. Their main accounts are still safe.

Not sure if they were playing their main accounts while the alt-accounts were botting, though.

my mains still running since Vanilla, i don't bot it and i do bot on this same PC.

Ban are PER LICENCE, Not account.
Do not listen to anyone who says otherwise. I've botted since Vanilla and after the battle.net introduction they have only ever banned individual subs/licences.

They have taken Overwatch bans real strict and also dont allow the game played on that computer again, so account bans could be a future possibility but so far Im sure there has been 0.

you didnt even read what I wrote. RIP.

The safest way is to use vmware, period. The bans are not IP based. Yes if an IP has 90% of accounts using it banned for botting then maybe they will flag you for inspection and only that. If your main is not associated in any way with the botting accounts you are safe!

The last 4 years i use vmware exclusively and besides the banwaves (May 2015 and 2016) i did not have any other ban (i did not suicide bot 24/7 and monitored 99% of the time). However because i am paranoid i use vpn virtual servers which i setup myself in a server i rent online( used primarily for intranet software i develop) that gives me some different IPs to play with. If you use commercial vpn services then your botting accounts may be flaged for inspection. Anyway, vmware combined with vpn IMHO technically completely separates your main from the botting accouns. Just make certain you do not associate them in game and you are safe 100%.

Now, after the last banwave and my disbelief for the whole situation, i decided to risk more and experiment a lot. I have 2 vmware vms running EchoTiger's excellent profiles 20/7 with hbrelog and 0.005% monitoring. After 20 days they are still going strong!

PS: IMHO the logmeout plugin IS A MUST!

Wrong, WHEN it's detected, it's detected on the injection to the wow client, so as long as you don't attach HB to your main account it won't get banned, sure it has happend that ppl (atleast they claim) has got banned on accounts they haven't botted.

Spot on. Been botting and playing legit at same time through 4 banwawe's now. Legit not banned, botted banned. Every time.
