HB 2.0.0.5097 Styx.Helper.Character.Settings

Hey guys, after my login to HB it crashes and want to send an Error Report.

I've deleted my settings folder inside HBfolder and the cache folder of WoW. I've even reinstallend .netframework 4.

I'm still using Windows 7 64x (it is up to date).
I've tried to run HB as Admin and as normal.
This issue occures since the "black" HB version has been pushed out.

I asked Tony for help and he told me to write a new post inside hier =)

have you logged into wow, and in game? have you checked for new CC updates? Amplify needed an update with this new HB version since some api was changed. are you running wow in DX9 mode? are you running WoW in Windowed Mode?

amplify is a custom class, i was using it as an example.

if you havent yet, try making a new install of Hb in a completely different folder then your current installation.

if not, then try running some windows updates.

download the latest DX9 Runtimes from microsoft's site.

download and repair the .Net Framework 3.5 sp1 since at that point if its still causing problems that's the only reason left really.

There is no DX9 for Win 7. Its using DX11 and afaik you can not install DX9.

I'm using .netframework 4

yes, there is Honorbuddy cannot attach to wow if running wow in direct x 11 mode. you need to go to your options and change that to direct x 9

.net 3.5 and .net 4 are two diffrent things, just because 4 is greater then 3 does not mean you can just use 4 and be ok. you need 3.5 sp1

I'm running WoW in DX9 mode as I allready sayed^^
I mean you can not install DX9 on a machine with DX11 installed on. This may causes in bad errors =)

Yes I know the fact that a bigger number don't have to be a better version but I runned HB with .netframeworkds since I'm using win7 and this is now for more that a year.

You can so install DX9 in Win 7...where you got the idea that you can't, I will never know. All manner of Games, utilities like Innerspace, and dev tools require you do the dx9 updates. There have been many mini patches to dx9, and Microsft periodically releases updates to just dx9 that don't always come through the Windows Update path to fix issues.

Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX End-User Runtime for the latest dx9 builds through the dx9 web installer.

As for your problem, it seems something is wrong with your system, not HB. It runs fine on various flavors of Win7 for me.

I thought my Windows7FirewallControl was causing this problems so I logged on my Adminaccount on my PC to uninstall it. I don't know why but I thought "hey dude lets try it with your adminaccount". And BING it worked
I don't know why but it workds when I'm logged in with this other account.

Any suggestions?

I got the Same Problem. But i know how to solve it. Make sure ur "config.wtf" is NOT read-only. That worked for me.
