Has anyone managed 3 bots on a 32bit system? (4gig ram max)

As the title asks, wondering if any of you have had success running 3 bots on an older 32 bit system? If so were there any measures you took to help acheive this?

Currently botting 2 accounts and have managed to open a third client + a third DB but the computer is lagging at that point.

The CPU seems fine - averages around 40-50% with all three up, but I'm using 3.13 gig of memory which is pretty much maxed out of my 'so called 4 gig'

Do I have to get the laptop out for my third acc or can anybody share any tips?

Cheers

James

yes possible but the pc wont be able to run ANYTHING else, nothing
so u cannot use it, and if your graphics card/cpu are too old, and get too hot the pc or one of your d3 clients might crash

ok but they will run? I have read a little about smartram. Would this be a good program to run for my setup?

Cheers

dont do it, its really bad. even on just 2 bots its really bad. 32 bit cant use 4g ram. I had a previous OS, win 7 32 bit, with i5 750,4 gig ram(can only use 3gig). pc was 5-6 years old and by running two bots it stutters so much that
its not worth it, if i was botting a solo account it would get around 800-900 items per hour, but with 2 accounts it gets cut down to 500. with both bots @ 500 with a grand total of 1000, just 100-200 increase from botting solo account.
that and the extra benefit of your computer going crazy, like right clicking on desktop would take like 30-40 seconds before it responds. 1 account suddenly crashing and saying "not responding" if it goes too long you have to relaunch it etc etc.

I tried, smartram, gamebooster, overclocking everything,d3prefs,turning aero off, turning uneeded tasks off. it just doesnt work, just upgrade to x64 and add a bit of ram. this way your bots will have higher item per hour and you wont be pulling your
hair out for not being able to use your pc properly when botting.

I'm just experimenting with smartram right now. I have 2x Bots running, and a 3rd client + a 3rd DB open, not botting as the third client is my first bot account opened in a different region. All 3 clients stable at the 15 fps mark with 70% ram usage ;o

This was just to test if it was worth me buying a third account.

I guess it works?

^yea whenever I use smartram it shows my diablo in processes only eating 70k-100k but when I look at ram usage, it does go a bit lower but not as low as having your diablo eat only 70k-100k diff, the lowered ram usage is hardly significant and just shows that my d3 really isng only eating 70k-100k. but it does help quite a bit. a reputable botter told me that to have 1.5gb of ram per bot.

If it was as simple as upgrading some ram and windows I would for sure, but my mobo is restricted to 4gig I believe. I'll continue with this and see how things go!

^ok, best of luck to you. I hope you will be able to pull it off, im really not that good with computers on how to make them run good. but I tried everything I could think and/or search of. upgraded almost everything lol

Those ram reduction programs hardly to anything but conceal the true ram usage of the programs. They won't allow you to run more D3+DBs.

james000 i have the same problem here. I am runing 2 bot's and making some tests to see how the 3h one will be but fail so far(i start investigating this problem 2 days ago). I am just like you .. using 32bit xp with 3.25gb ram of 4 in total. I don't have problem running 3th d3 or db. db managed to log-in, load plugins with the usual speed but when i press Start button where "Waiting 13 sec for creating a new game" should appear..it takes more than 10min..i didn't wait how much exactly. So...curently testing with some game window size reduction..and that program you are suggesting .. smartRam. Also making a clean install of the 3th DB. Switching to windows 7 .. could that fix the problem ?? As far as i know my computer gonna be able to use all 4gb under windows 7.

My specs are:
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 245 (2900 MHz)
Memory: 4gb Dual Channel
Motherboard : Gigabyte
VGA: ATI/AMD RADEON HD4670
OS: win xp sp2

hehe the same as i have
but i overclocked it for 3.4 Mhz
and it cant run more than 3 bots anyway
6 GB ram
How did you overclock it (trough bios only or ... ? be specific as possible please..i wanna make some tests)? 32 or 64 bit OS are you using and which one ? XP ,7 ?

64 win7
its more faster than XP i think
and as i know XP never was x64

It does..but it's a different not important topic right now. Thanks for the info. What about the CPU overclock ? How did you do it ?

Gotten fed up with SmartRam already, your clients build back up to what they were previously using over a short time period anyway.

Does anyone have any experience with Readyboost? Could that help me get a third client running on this setup?

Cheers

James

It's all about performance i gues. I overclocked my CPU to work on 3.48 Mhz as quadrotony suggested and i now i can run 3 bots on my 32 bit windows XP. I am monitoring the CPU temperature .. it goes up to 48 degree...which is bad as far as i know..but hey...3 bots are up and running. I am gonna do some more tests running the bots..wanna see if some heat caused restarts will occur. Then am gonna decide what to do from now on. Thanks for the topic and for the help quadrotony.

no problem

now i realise that i cant overclock my Athlon II x2 245 more than 3.4 Ghz
North Bridge limit - my motherboard cant unlock NB frequency. Asus M4N78 SE

so i will upgrade my proc and buy Phenom x4 955 (near $90)
i hope i will run at least 5-6 bots on it

Hey d0rian, hows the setup holding up? I'm still dithering about whether to try for a 3rd as I'm using between 76 - 90% of my ram with 2.
