Hey guys. I am looking into creating a small botting rig that will reside in the living room instead of my room so that i can just let bots bot and not keep checking on them every 5 seconds. I need to study. :)

Since i intend to leave 2-3 accounts botting 24/7 i am really looking into creating something that doesn't use a lot of power. My main rig is a phenom x4 955 BE with a radeon 5850 and a 600w psu so that has proved a bit of a power burner 24/7.

All i need it to do is be able to fluently run 3-4 sessions of wow at low details. I am thinking of building it in a small case so it can rest on top of living room furniture (like a small table or something) and connecting it with a spare 19" monitor i have.

So to recap:

1. Be the absolute lowest watt burning possible (you guys can suggest laptops too, no problem).
2. Certainly be able to run 3-4 x WoW at low fluently (so i am thinking it must have separate gpu, Llano won't work probably).
3. Be small form factor
4. Be fcuking quiet. It should be if it's low power components.
5. Not cost an arm and a leg. I have sold my 3 year old laptop and will sell an Intel C2D with 8800gts box i have laying around to build this new system. So i made 200 from the laptop and will make another 150-180 from the box, so i think 250-300 MAX for this new small pc should do it. I would use the Intel C2D for what i want, it should handle at least 2 WoWs but that thing burns more than my phenom/5850.

I am really very interested in laptops as well since they are small, energy efficient (i think?), relatively quiet but i don't think 300 can buy a lappy that will run 4 WoWs no problem. Can it?

So any ideas? Since we are all from different countries etc you can just suggest parts or you can just check amazon.co.uk or .de since this is where i'll probably shop. Cheers.

At first, I'd suggest not using any HDDs or DVD/BluRay drives.Just stick with a small (64 gig) ssd. You may want to make use of Intel's embedded HD Graphics (like in the 2nd gen. i3), which only consumes ~35 watts and does not require any addition graphics card (which is one of the greatest power drainers).

so far,

nerds

Can Intel HD 3000 (the gpu in a 2nd gen i3) run 3-4 WoWs in low settings? Screen resolution is 1280x1024 for the 19" monitor but i maybe connect it to my 24" sometimes which is 1920x1200. WoW would be run in a lower res of course. If the Intel can do it it's very interesting because it's in many laptops as well right?

Idk about the resolution thing, you should check out their homepage: Intel? Core? i3 Processor
Problem with laptops is that a) they exceed your budget and b) they will most likely all have a dedicated graphics card.

You might want to read this review on the HD 3000: Test Intel HD Graphics 3000 Grafikl?sung - Notebookcheck.com Tests
It's in German, but Google translate should be able to handle this.

A laptop with dedicated gpu burns more than a system with an i3 and no gpu? Or will a laptop always burn less?
