I want to buy a level 6+ guild to use Pimp my Guild, since nobody joins a 6- guild.

What is the average cost of a guild this level?
 
Good rule of thumb is to add 10k for each guild level. So 50-60k would sound about right. Guild prices are obviously very contingent though.

Damn, i thought it'd be around 10-20k. Any way to get people to join if your guild is only lvl 1?
 
i tried that. getting people to join and stay is hard as heck. i gave up after two weeks.
 
If you're going to buy a guild go for one that is at least 15 or more. A level 15 guild on Sargeras Alliance sells for ~50k gold. If you're going to pay for a lower level guild you could easily get a level 6 guild for 20k. A few things you'll want to consider is how many people are in the guild, what achievments it has, and what you're trying to get out of the guild. A level 25 guild was selling for ~120k gold--same server. It varies from server to server, but it should be mostly consistent. Good luck and just keep trying to find one to buy. You'll get one sooner or later.

Look for a guild that has no active people in, low achieves, and perhaps a desperate seller--I dunno about this one.
 
I bought a level 25 guild for 190k with 600 members, fairly active too.

It's possible you could find one that cheap. Like I said, it differs. On my server personally, I haven't seen a level 6 guild go for less than 60k. And level 25 guilds? They go for at least 300k. I've been offering 250k for months and still cannot buy one. Level 25 'leveling guilds' are a hot commodity because they provide residual income on a weekly basis from Cash Flow. And with MoP coming soon, they are bound to make their money back easily. So buying guilds is a very smart hedge against gold inflation.

Bought a level 17 guild for 55k a few months ago, and I saw a level 15 guild for 50k yesterday advertised for sale.
I think guild prices will rise as people realise that MoP will make social levelling guilds nice gold.
Got offered a level 25 guild for 190k a week after I bought the level 17... so sometimes high level guilds come along quite cheap.
 
How does the actual 'selling' take place? Is it just trust? I give you 100k you make me gmaster after you receive or vice versa?

I bought a lvl 6 Guild with 600+ Members for 11k =]

It really depends on ur server and the people selling.

i tried it with a level 15 guild (which i bought for 44k), full month of reqruiting everyday for around 12 hours, got quite a few low level members but most just left. Im on outland too so the competition for members is unreal.
 
Just bought a lvl 25 guild for 175k and I feel like it was a good deal for my server

I've bought 4 guilds so far and each time what I do is this:

Agree to buy the guild for a price that you both have settled on (sometimes send each other a mail to confirm this).
He then /ginvites you to the guild and before you are made GM you hand over the gold.
He then makes you GM.
You thank him and kick everyone you don't want out of your brand new guild.

Also make sure to check everyones rank as you might find people with high level access to your gbank.

This isn't entirely accurate. Guilds under level 15 sell for alot less and you can usually get one for 1k per level + cost of bank tabs. After level 15 they start to go up in price alot more. You might pay 10k for a level 6 guild but by the time you go to buy a level 25 you're looking at 200k+.

Your level 6 guild shouldn't cost more than 12k. If you pay more than that you're getting ripped off imo.

It is very important to have some kind of documentation in game that both parties wish to make this transaction. Scammers like to use Skype and discuss the details there so there is no evidence in game. Then they scam you, take your gold and when you go to open a ticket there is no proof. Make sure you force the guy selling the guild to agree to some sort of terms before you hand him any gold. If at all possible, try to get GM first then trade gold.
