Hey guys, are their any guides or articles out there for the best pokemon to use for defending a gym? I know that for a while, Vaporeon was the absolute best, but I have recently heard conflicting things. I just want to make sure I am using my stardust on effective pokemon.

Thanks again!

I would say that is inaccurate considering that IV makes certain pokemon stronger than others...As well as certain skills and skill types..

"The strongest one you have" would mean strongest (meaning CP, IV, and Skills)...

Didn't know I was gonna need to explain that one...

As for skill types there is no possible way to know what another person is going to use against your pokemon...

Let the dots sink in...

Thank you for your very vague opinion, but that really is not the answer I was looking for. I want to know more specifics. I know that pinsir is not as good as venesaur for example..those are the kind of examples I am looking for. Comparisons, and a table showing who is better than who, etc..Or the top pokemon..

Vaporeon certainly is not the best.

Best attacker: Dragonite with dragon breath and dragon claw or dragon pulse. Because dragon type moves will be effective on nearly every type of pokemon

Best attacker if defender is dragon: Lapras

Best defender: Snorlax with lick and hyper beam. Because few pokemon counter Snorlax

Vaporeon is useless fighting against dragonite or snorlax, you just cant win.

Don't snipe for some reason it gets me the most errors when trying to take back gym
