Every season we are all tasked with starting from scratch. I would love to post a comprehensive guide on the best way to do this, but my way isn't necessarily the right way or the fastest. I would love if everyone can provide some input how they level and gear each season.
I will update this guide with your suggestions.
This is meant to be a gearing and leveling guide, not a "How to use DemonBuddy" Q&A but I will do my best on those questions.
Following these steps, within 30 hours of the Season 8 launch I was over 400 paragon doing T10 speed runs!
Truly fastest way to level:
If you do not mind waiting until a day or two after a new season has begun, the fastest way to level is simple:
Normally this is how I would level for the season.
For season 8, I decided to start on day 1 when no one is high enough to powerlevel yet to see if there was any advantage to doing it.
Doing it the Old Fashioned way:
I started about an hour after the season launched. ~30 hours after the season start, I hit paragon 400 which seemed to be worth it!
Here is what I did for Season 8:
I am using the .470 stable release with .670 Trinity BETA. I hit the RESET button on the configuration. Only changes I made were:
A theme you will see below is continually upgrading your items. Every 5 - 10 levels you will find significant improvements. To make the most of those, you also need to be using ruby gems in weapons for DPS, ruby gems in helm for experience and diamond gems in all other sockets. Once you start adding gems, the bot doesn't calculate the item based on it's gem-free state, it includes the value of the gem in the DPS or Toughness calculation. This is why you should check on a townrun every 5 - 10 levels to see what's in your backpack!
Every 5 - 10 levels means 30 then 35 the 40 then 45. Not 33 then 38 then 43. Item power changes a lot in game at 5 level increments starting from 0.
Keep in mind that the first 20 levels come really fast and that gear changes so often that I wouldn't spend much time or resource upgrading other than socketed weapons and helm.
Don't blow all of your materials early when you don't need to. Save them for a rough patch when your weapons really need an upgrade to speed up clear times.
Create a new Seasonal Character! I chose Monk.
Level 0 - Level 30: Bounties.
Level 30 - Level 60: Nephalem Rifts
Level 61 - Level 70: Nephalem Rifts
Congratulations on hitting 70!
Seasonal Journey... And Haedrigs Gifts!
Here is a comprehensive list of everything that you need to do to get free Set Items!
Diablo 3: Season 8 Journey Tracker
First, you need to gear up on level 70 items:
Second, Get the 2 piece Haedrig's Gift. Do these things if you haven't already:
Third, Get the 4 piece Haedrig's Gift.
Fourth, you should be able to take on Torment 4 by this point. If not, run lower Torment Rifts or Greater Rifts until you can. GR 20 is basically T4.
Congratulations! You have a "Free" 6 piece Set from Haedrig!

Get that 6 piece set on, it's time to set the bot loose!

Consult the chart below.
Remember that you want efficiency:
Death's Breath farming on T12 sounds great because you're guaranteed two Death's Breath on every elite. T8 only guarantees you one Death's Breath.
T12 is 438,669% Monster Health though. T8 is only 41,625%. That is a factor of 10 in monster health increase!
If T8 Rifts take 3 minutes to complete and T12 Rifts take 7 minutes to complete... You're getting way more DB by doing T8!

Truly fastest way to level:
If you do not mind waiting until a day or two after a new season has begun, the fastest way to level is simple:
- Join a couple of Seasonal Powerleveling communities in game.
- Politely post about every ten minutes asking for a powerlevel: "LFG, any help leveling is appreciated" or similar.
- Browse Youtube or watch a movie while you wait for an invite.
- After invite, be nice, say thank you and follow the simple rules of being powerleveled:
- Do whatever you are asked by the person who invited you.
- Stand at the beginning of the rift level they are in, don't explore. This will anger them when you die as it will take longer to level you.
- When they go to the next level of the rift, promptly portal directly to them. Stand at the beginning of the level.
- When the Rift Guardian appears, you can usually teleport to them to get the loot if they are just going to close the rift.
- Gear under level 60 is pointless but you can get DB and rift keys at least.
- Once you collect some gear from RGs and can survive without dying, you can try to tag along to get more gold and gear around level 50-60.
- It doesn't hurt to ask for help with the season journey! Many people will help you out after leveling you!
- Diablo 3: Season 8 Journey Tracker
- If they won't help after leveling you, scroll down to the Seasonal Journey section

I am using the .470 stable release with .670 Trinity BETA. I hit the RESET button on the configuration. Only changes I made were:
- Gold pickup turned on,
- Gem pickup set to to Chipped+,
- TPS set to 30,
- Experience timer set to 300 seconds,
- Items were set to the default "stash legendaries."
- Everything else left at default settings.

Create a new Seasonal Character! I chose Monk.
Level 0 - Level 30: Bounties.
- Load the "Bounties.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- I stopped every 5-10 levels when a town run was being made to check gear, backpack and stash.
- Each time made some gear upgrades, checked Merchant for cheap upgrades, etc.
- Auto-Equip does a ton of changing at lower levels since you level so fast and upgrades are found constantly
- Life regen items are available very early at the merchant, it's really overpowered under level 20!
- I stopped every 5-10 levels when a town run was being made to check gear, backpack and stash.
- You can set the bot to "Force Bonus Act Mode" if you wish to get more cache materials.
- Start at normal difficulty until you get get some good upgrades. Raise Difficulty as much as you can and still 1 shot most basic trash mobs.
- Once I got socketed weapons I moved up to Expert
- Important upgrades:
- As soon as you can get a socketed weapon and helm, use the highest Ruby Gem you can get in them!
- Don't waste gold de-socketing when you find a better item, just salvage the old one.
- Bot counts the gem as part of weapon DPS meaning it will trash higher natural dps items, pay attention to this when your kills start taking too long.
- Cain's Fate recipe and level 23 give you an awesome leveling set,
- You can wear 3 of this 4 piece set. This will give you 50% experience, 10% magic find, 2% attack speed.
- Each craft costs 7000 gold, 15 white, 15 blue and 10 yellow material.
- Boots are recommended as they always roll with 10-12% movement speed, 20-29 exp per kill and life regen.
- Gloves and Helm always roll Crit Chance. Helm always rolls with a socket.
- Eventually the bot will start to replace these items so you can skip the set if you want.
- I found a pair of Rivera Dancers early on [mine were level ~20, they can be found after level 8!]. 250% damage to lashing tailkick 50% faster was HUGE.
- Keep an eye out for skill DPS boosting items like this, it makes a big difference. You need to manually get that skill onto your bar and change the rune as better ones become available.
- Upgrade your artisans only as you need them to a certain level to do what you need.
- IE: No point in spending 50,000 gold to get a level 10 blacksmith when you can only use level 20 items.
Level 30 - Level 60: Nephalem Rifts
- Load the "NephalemRift.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- I stopped the bot about every 5 levels at the end of a Rift with the same logic as earlier:
- Check for upgrades to ruby-gem-weapons that the bot won't see,
- New: Check for upgrades to diamond socketed armor/jewelry
- I wouldn't enchant to add sockets as the sockets start to roll naturally in this range.
- Check for cheap upgrades at the merchant during town run.
- Check blacksmith for weapon upgrades if you're having issues with killing
- Look for the highest level weapon available. You may be able to craft a level 35 dagger or sword, but there may be a level 40 mace available.
- Check your weapon's damage range compared to the damage range of what's available, make sure it's worth the materials.
- Difficulty level varies a lot in this range! Stick to the 1 shot basic trash model for setting your difficulty.
- Gems in weapons make your DPS advance much further than your toughness will allow
- Use Diamond gems in pants/chest/jewelry to compensate
- Remember that you will have to manually check for upgrades as the bot doesn't see the gems, only the DPS/toughness + or -
- Once you have Level Reduction weapon(s), you can raise difficulty a lot.
- Once you hit level 42... Level Reduction Items!
- Level 60 Weapon(s) in the 40s is a massive buff! It can more than quadruple your DPS!
- Items can have a secondary affix "Level Requirement Reduced By [x-xx]!"
- At Level 42 you can craft a level 60 weapon with 18 reduction!
- Level 60 mace rolls around 800 DPS.
- Level 41 mace rolls around 120 DPS. See the difference?
- You can craft until you get a level reduction weapon or take a level 60 item to mystic and re-roll the bottom secondary stat.
- Try to craft a weapon that has a socket so you can add a gem.
- You can't craft an item higher than level 60 until you have Death's Breath to upgrade the Blacksmith, but...
- At Level 40 you can craft a level 70 item with 30 reduction! Level 70 mace rolls up to 2000 DPS.
- Death's Breath don't start dropping until after level 61.
- This information is included in case you have some Death's Breath lying around...
- You can't craft an item higher than level 60 until you have Death's Breath to upgrade the Blacksmith, but...
- Get Kanai's Cube once you find a Puzzle Ring or Bovine Bardiche
- Bovine Bardiche
- Putting it into Kanai's Cube will take you to the D3 Cow Level
- You will find a massive number of chests that have much-better-than-normal contents
- All of the corpses should be checked as they have lots of gold
- You get radiant chests upon completion
- Puzzle Ring
- Putting it into the cube takes you to Greed's Realm
- Break all of the objects in the level, they contain massive gold and sometimes goblins
- Killing Greed gives to you the Boon of The Hoarder legendary gem!
- Save them until you get to a "5" level. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, etc
- Item power changes primarily at these points so you will find much better upgrades at 30 than 27.
- Bovine Bardiche
Level 61 - Level 70: Nephalem Rifts
- Once you hit level 60, the gear is massively better than before 60. Watch your first couple of townruns after 60 to get your items to that level.
- All Resist becomes more common along with higher rolls of Crit Chance/Damage and other multipliers.
- At level 61, Death's Breath will start to Drop, allowing you to craft level 70 items with Level Reduction.
- If you have level 70 weapon(s), your DPS will outpace your toughness, supplement with all resist items, and diamonds in sockets.
- Difficulty level can be raised with level reduction items for faster leveling.
- Once you hit level 61 and get some Death's Breath... Level Reduction Items!
- Upgrade your Blacksmith to level 12!
- Craft Level 70 Weapon(s) with Level Reduction.
- This will literally double your DPS and clear times
- Try to craft a weapon with a socket, then use the mystic to add the level reduction.
- You can also craft level 70 gear in other slots with the same affix if you are dying
- I wouldn't spend a ton doing gear, maybe 1 or 2 items if you're dying a lot.
Congratulations on hitting 70!
Seasonal Journey... And Haedrigs Gifts!
Here is a comprehensive list of everything that you need to do to get free Set Items!
Diablo 3: Season 8 Journey Tracker
First, you need to gear up on level 70 items:
- Open up your Trinity Config, find the "Auto Equip Items" section.
- Turn off "Disable at 70"
- This will allow the bot to continue changing out your items for upgrades
- Let the bot run Nephalem Rifts for 5-10 Rifts.
- Start at Normal difficulty, if it's really fast, move up.
- You want this to be fast, all these items will be replaced in a day.
- Do a couple of cheap enchants at the mystic and get rolling
- You should be around 400-600k DPS by now.
- If not, let the bot run a few more rifts, or try some crafting. Don't forget that you can craft jewelry.
- Turn "Disable at 70" back on!
Second, Get the 2 piece Haedrig's Gift. Do these things if you haven't already:
- Level all Artisans to level 12
- Enchant a socket into a weapon, even if it's not one you would use (don't use legendary items for this, it costs more)
- Craft a level 70 amulet or Ring at the Jeweler
- Craft a level 70 Item at the Blacksmith (you should have done this at level 61
)
- Unlock Kanai's Cube
- Socket 5 gems into gear (you can literally socket 3 items into a chest, remove them at the jeweler and resocket them again)
- Complete 5 bounties
- Complete a rift on "Expert" difficulty.
- Put an item into every slot of a follower
- Follower specific item can be crafted at the blacksmith
- You can put your items into the slots then take them out after you get the achievement
- Set game difficulty to HARD, manually kill these 4 bosses:
- Maghda and Kulle in Act 2
- Siegebreaker and Azmodan in Act 3
- Collect your 2 piece set from the message icon in the lower left of your screen.
- Put the 2 Set Items on and set your skills accordingly.
- For the next step, you want to stack any items or skills that will increase movement speed.
Third, Get the 4 piece Haedrig's Gift.
- Complete a FULL SET of bounties.
- Set your difficulty to Normal (Don't go any higher. We want maximum speed!)
- Load the "Bounties.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- Check your bounty settings in Trinity and make sure "Force Bonus Act Mode" or "Act Selection Mode" is chosen with all acts turned on.
- Grab a drink, turn on YouTube or a Movie.
- Let the bot run. Check on it if you notice the screen looks inactive.
- Manually help as needed to make sure it completes all bounties for all 5 acts without starting over
- This is the worst part of the Haedrig Gift requirements, it really isn't that hard to deal with.
- Load the "NephalemRift.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- Set Difficulty to "Master"
- Complete a Rift.
- Manually kill Urzael in Act 5
- Manually kill Skeleton King in Act 1
- Teach the Jeweler and Blacksmith all of the designs/recipes you found in bounties.
- Transmorgify an item t the enchantress
- Craft an Imperial level gem at the Jeweler
- Buy an item from Kadala
- Extract a legendary power at the cube.
- Collect your next 2 set pieces from the message icon in the lower left of your screen.
- Put the 2 new Set Items on and set your skills accordingly. This time, concern yourself with DPS and Toughness abilities.
- Now is a good time to take stock of your available items and do any upgrades, spent a bunch of your assets at the artisans, do enchants, extract powers, etc.
- It's okay to lose some sheet DPS to equip items that give your set bonus a huge boost.
Fourth, you should be able to take on Torment 4 by this point. If not, run lower Torment Rifts or Greater Rifts until you can. GR 20 is basically T4.
- Set difficulty to Torment 4.
- Load the "Keywardens.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- Let the bot kill all 4 of the Keywardens on T4
- Load the "NephalemRift.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- Let the bot complete the Rift (This only needs to be Torment 1, but this should be easy on T4)
- Load the "GreaterRift.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- You will need to complete lower Greater Rifts until Greater 20 is Available
- Complete a Greater Rift level 20
- Manually kill Adria in Act 5
- Manually kill Butcher in Act 1
- Craft a level 70 item at the Blacksmith, then use it with 25 Death's Breath, 50 white, 50 blue and 50 yellow materials at Kanai's cube to create a legendary item.
- Collect your next 2 set pieces from the message icon in the lower left of your screen.
Congratulations! You have a "Free" 6 piece Set from Haedrig!
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ ╰(◕ ¿ ◕ )╯
Get that 6 piece set on, it's time to set the bot loose!

Gather Crafting Materials
- Death's Breath. White, Blue and Yellow crafting reagents:
- Nephalem Rifts are the best place to gather these, doing SPEED RUNS!
- Don't Forget about the Sage's Set Piece if you can fit them into your gear! Adds an additional Death's Breath anytime an enemy drops 1-3 of them.
- Convert all those Yellows to Blues and Whites!
- Go to the "Cube" section of the Trinity Config.
- Setup "Convert Crafting" Materials as needed.
- Go to the "Cube" section of the Trinity Config.
- When you're way short on White Items/Materials, use the profile that was built for it!
- Load the "WhiteItemFarm.xml" located in DB>Profiles>Adventurer
- Go to the "Containers" section of the Trinity Config
- Make sure it's opening all those lovely weapon racks!
- Set difficulty to Normal (We want speed and white Items)
- Work's best when combined with the "Convert Crafting" options in Trinity.
Want to know what Difficulty you should play?
Consult the chart below.
Remember that you want efficiency:
Death's Breath farming on T12 sounds great because you're guaranteed two Death's Breath on every elite. T8 only guarantees you one Death's Breath.
T12 is 438,669% Monster Health though. T8 is only 41,625%. That is a factor of 10 in monster health increase!
If T8 Rifts take 3 minutes to complete and T12 Rifts take 7 minutes to complete... You're getting way more DB by doing T8!
