So i got banned for 72 hours under:

"Details: Third Party Software"

I was botting mining.

I'm wondering when i get the account back, should i lay low for a while, or head straight back to botting? Does it matter at all?

Also will i get another 72 hours, or just a permenant ban?

Yeah that's my question too,i pretty much think you should start over a new one

Your account have been suspended for 72H after 72Hrs you can play again.

Take a few days off but you can go back to botting no problem. You got a suspension and next time may be a ban or just another suspension. Depends on if they catch you again, how soon they catch you again, the mood of the GM who handles the issue, etc. Are you botting your main? If you are and you like your main then you may want to look into a second account to bot on to protect yourself. You may also want to look at changing the profile that you use for your mining/herbing. I would suggest making your own profiles as public files and the pathing they use can sometimes be flagged, if not so much by Blizz then by others on your realm looking to "remove" the competition. It pains me to say that but it happens.

Again, unless this is your main account and you are looking to protect it, there is really no need to start over with a new account/toon. The cost involved is annoying and why let a perfectly good account go to waste? Just so you know, I have been suspended on certain accounts several times and have continued to bot without further issue. I have lost a couple of accounts both after receiving a suspension and with no warning whatsoever. It is very much random and depends on how deep the GM wants to look into your account. Don’t worry about it. you can’t control it short of watching the profiles you use, the amount of time you bot and the amount of mats you drop on the AH at any given time. Keep these in check and it should be smooth sailing. Just my two cents.

I went right back to it as soon as my last account got unlocked form the 72h lock... 2 weeks still running. Keeping a low profile is easy and also important IMO... Grinding is out of the question for me now... I'll never bot grind again. Don't bot 24h sessions. Spread you AH sells out a bit and you should be ok. If you're botting to ease your own pains for grinding then you can really limit it down to a few hours a day and be able to easily support a main + a few alts. If you're making money gold selling then its a risk you take for da $$$

Thanks, is creating a profile hard?

I only gather with Gatherbuddy 1, the standalone version, not Honorbuddy with Gatherbuddy built in so I am not familiar with making paths with GB2 yet. However, for GB1, making paths are easy. I think Kick has a guide to it in the forum somewhere that I remember reading. I will link it if I can find it. It is basically naming the path, clicking the record button, flying the route you want the bot to take and then clicking stop. It may take you a few trys to get a path that works well for you (i.e. avoids large mobs, big cliffs, etc.) and that doesn't get stuck anywhere but after a try or two you will get the hang of it. The beauty of your own paths is that they are yours and yours alone. I love my paths for Twilight Highlands as they avoid areas where the adds were handing me my ass using public profiles so not only has my gather rate has gone way up but I am never hot on some other bots tail because we are using the same or very similar profile, and my repair costs and rez sickness time is pretty much gone altogether.

Edit: Kicks guide to GB

Note: I have been using the recording ms set at 2000ms for all my paths and they have gone great. Suppose it depends on your computer. Play with it to find the setting you like.

If it was my main account it would probably put me off botting it for a month or so. If it was a botting account Id be back to botting right away but maybe be a bit more careful with it, eg keep under 8 hours botting per day and less than 100 auctions at a time.

Not really, may take a little bit of time and may seem weird at first. Thanks to one of Kicks profiles that i use as a template for structure, I simple start GB2 fly my route and click the current location at my turns and elevation changes. Then copy and past into the template...add a blackspot here or there and bingo...i typically do 2 to 3 routes per zone just to throw some variation in there...

ok.. yet another.. BAN = PERM .... SUSPENSION/72HR = TEMP.. please know the difference and don't post that your banned when your not, it helps keep the idiots out there from crying wolf.

Now that being said, remember with any temp suspension.. you probably won't get it back at the end of the 72hrs exactly.. you could get it back earlier (very rare but has happened on a few of my accounts)... and could take upto a week or so (also has happeend). But remember not to get all pissy with Blizz if it takes longer then the 3 days. The more attention you draw to your account during a suspension period will make it look worse for you. If you do feel the urge/need to contact them after 5 or 6 days... make sure to do so ONLY IF you have legit proof that the account is yours including Photo ID, CD Keys, payment method (all scanable to send). OTherwise they will tag you probably and possible move forward with a full ban.

Now that also being said, No need to put botting off completely after/if you get your account back. I would say just cut back some of your botting. Maybe look at what you were doing while botting and change it up a little.. just remember the more 'realistic' you look the better.

Good luck.
