You can find some good threads by searching but from experience, mining is easy and brings in a pretty nice profit.

The usual things like check your AH and see what is overpriced then compete in that to earn good gold.
Really it comes down to common sense and a little research as most servers differ quite a lot on what can make good gold due to varying population size and server type.
Besides if someone was on your server and did know a good gold making place/way why would they share that?
