Okay so I have been botting for a while now, mainly just for personal use such as mats for raids, dailies, leveling characters, PvP gear, instances, Lazy Raider. I love everything about the bot but recently I have been running low on personal spending cash (Been wanting a new computer for a while) and I looked into selling gold. I saw someones signature (Name is slipping my mind) who said 15,000$ made in about 1 year..but before I DO sell gold, I would like some responses with tips or trick or hints or helpful info on selling gold. PLEASE note that I check the forums numerous times a day and I am always reading threads on gold selling and such so just posting "Go read this thread" isn't necessarily the greatest help to me.

Currently I have 2 accounts, my main account with my raiders (and a character I farm on) and an alt account with a PvP/Justice Point geared Mage that I only use for farming. I bounce around where I farm but mainly I do Twilight Highlands and Uldum, and when I happen to bot on my main account farming I do the opposite of what my mage is running. For the most part I bot under 12 hours a day in a static location, but sometimes I will bot like 18+ hours a day doing some farming some pvp, some instances some dailies etc.

What I am wondering is:

What is the best way to maximize my profit and reduce my time spent to make quick money? I understand servers vary but for the most part they stay pretty similar.

Should I try and go for private buyers? If yes what is the best way to go about that?

Should I sell to gold selling websites? If yes give me pros or cons to it.

How is the best way to transfer the gold? Whether it is on a vanilla account or whatever and how to transfer gold safely between my botting account to the selling one in a non-suspicious way.

If I am farming let's say 8 hours a day 7 days a week what is a good ballpark of how much I should be making from selling the gold?

What is a good asking price per thousand gold?

I am currently on a low pop. server, should I transfer to a higher or medium population server to get more buyers and to sell my mats easier?

15k$ a year as spending cash would be phenomanal especially if I am just doing it for fun and not as my "job", if you are the person with that signature or if you were to guess, is that there full time job? Do they have more than 2 bots running?

Really anything pertaining to selling gold or selling mats or farming, all advice would be helpful to make this experience grand and hopefully I will be sportin a macbook air sooner than I could wish :)

Best advice I can give you is, nothing is completely safe, just because other people's method works for them doesn't mean you won't be the unlucky one to get banned. Also if you are looking for some info, you should check out one of kickazz's links, he has some pretty useful information there on how he does it. 2 accounts probably will get you started but some people here have 6+ or even 10+ accounts, just remember to not bot on what you can't afford to lose.
 
Ive got 2-3 bots running around the realms, and some old vanilals for selling gold. I sell to people who direct the gold to gold seller, they give lowest prices but much more reliable than private buyers, and supereasy to find. Most ive sold was 800k for like 280$.

My only advise is to, dont have your eyes on that 15grand per year, your gonna have costs even if you somehow got that 15k.
Hope you have a store that sells wow cheap, vanilla under 5e, Wolkt under 15 and Cata 9.99e and you cant lose money thats for sure. But forget 15k
 
Well to make $15,000 you will need a few accounts.

And if you have a lot of accounts, going for 8hours a day just isnt long enough!

24hours a day should do with the addon that logs you out if you get a whisper.

18000g per day x 6 accounts x 30 days = 3240000 per month

3240 x 0.35$ = 1134$ per month. Take away your subs for the accounts and set aside money to buy more world of warcraft accounts.

then make your way upto 12 accounts and you should make over $2000 a month which is $24000 a year! :D

Here is how i sell my gold, ill give you a pic of a diagram and it seems to keep my accounts safe now.

3 big fails from my point of view.
1. Gametime is cheap, 7kg/month per account.
2. Shutup addon for whispers is basicly useless, Ive had two 72h bans on two accounts this week online time 16-18 hours per day. GMs dont wisper you no more, they teleport you to example Vashj underwater place, where you wonder around. Or that big crypt in Uldum. Both farmers were there when logged on. OO you said logs out, someone asks to join your guild, you logout. With the amount of wispers i get daily, only thing id be doing was logging back in.
3. Using AH for huge amounts of ore=ban, AH=Ban if you can have priv buyers then it might be possible, but priv buyers=less gold per ore.

Your calculations anyhow, optimistic as they can be.

Just to start with 6, you will need Account 30-50e*5=300-500e, 3 HB sessions 60e. Thats 600e just to startup your operation, if you plan to raise the money with wowgold to startup with. Well its not that simple, with 1 botter doing 12-18 hours a day youll need too much time to gather gold sufficently. And probably get bans on old accounts before you get enough accounts.

WoW gold farming on low scale, like 3 bots as ive got. Works for smaller purchases from example Dealextreme, but i wouldnt rely my living on it.

I do live on it.

And i run my accounts 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I only put my farmers on realms where the economy is good and i can shift a lot of mats, the least i make on my bankers is 17k a day and on some realms i make 22k per char.

So 17.5k x 6 = 105k gold a day thats $36 a day from just 6 accounts.

Yeah start up costs are a bitch and nobody likes it but it has to be done! and its so easy to find private buyers just /2 wts *herbs* cheap /w me

the main money is with volatile life, i would say 65% + of my gold comes from volatile life.
 
Thanks for the post Lovemonkey, I may need to PM you a little later with more specific questions to my situation...but the alt you mail to is in the same guild as all the alts in that guild right? And you're the GM of it? You were completely right about farming on a main account, I only like to bot on my main for raiding or dailies or achievements, so the sooner I can have another account to use instead of that for farming the better. 6 bots seems like quite a lot and with your calculations 1134$ a month is great because it would just be pocket cash for me...I currently own two accounts, I have 2 friends who used to play I could get their accounts for free (Only paying for gametime) and one has 85s with herb/mining another has an 85 but horde (I am alliance) I think that would be cheaper and then I could have 3 farming like 18-20 hours a day...would that work in your opinion? I mean I would only make like ~500$ a month...also I am a little confused how you get your gold to the vanilla account and how you find sellers, and you are not using private buyers, what are you using?

Hm.. how do you make so many money from volatile life??? In my realm it costs 40-60 silver... How much it costs in your realm?
 
The guy you saw is me, i have some Private Buyers, but i have one that has been buying me GOLD since WOTLK he was paying me 3$/k and now hes doing 1.5$/k maybe im lucky, but if you are patient you can have sucess, but yes i check my historial for 1 year and 6 month i have BEEN selling gold and i have done (25k us so far).

Heh, welcome to Russian realms.
I don't know why here is so low prices.. May be here is more botters then on english realms... Russian GMs ban them like in Europe. but, i think that Russian people got another metnality. They want more for free... but don't want to work.
Gold in any Russian realm costs 0.30$ per 1k. But it impossible to sell. Wery big competition. Every other message in the trade chat - gold selling. month ago i was have a big luck - i sold 500k for 150$
 
I usually get 42p (?0.42) ($0.55-0.60) per 1000 gold. 100k = sub and ?35 for my pot : )

My advice is shop for the right server for the profiles you run. For the love of God, I see clowns botting 18hrs a day on high pop servers and selling stacks of mats for 12g. These people are moron's do not be one of them. I dont know how those guys make a profit on the electricity bill never mind the bans they must get. Low-Mid Population PvE servers are the best. Less botters, less reporters, less gankers, less "Pro's", less bankers, mats cost more than crafted items often = people buy gold more.
High Pop servers have set ways of making enough gold to get through, like DEing JC rings coz you can buy ore for 11g, but constant AH undercuts blahblah dont bother. Forget that, go somewhere were you do 160nodes per hour and sell the mats for 80g a stack. On my server Volatile life still sell for 7-8g each. Azhara's viel can go for 80g, obsidium for 80 etc. (This is 4.3 release day!!, Late Nov 2011) Running Zuabro's Vashj'ir profile mining and herbing I can make an easy 3k an hour, and I mean easily. 15k a day without a sweat being lazy, some days 30-50k. The money is there to be made, find the right server and go for it.

Just a foot note, use a pet class for the vashj'ir gathering profiles, maybe melee works havent tried, but ranged do not know how to kite in water, they get stuck on, "moving from frozen target" they just bug, dont fight and without a pet they die, BM Hunter 2 hits the mobs ofc, Demo Lock works too, take it from me, Frost Mage does not, changed my CC, set pull distance to 0 and disable movement in combat, nothing worked. They just stand still and die, Elemental gets pwned.

Use a vanilla account to do the trading to the gold sellers so you dont lose a farming account.
 
Thanks for the advice, Idontcareatall, for finding a server like you are on should I just look up mid-pop pve servers and go and check the economy before the transfer?
 
Can you prove that u are botting 24h per day 7days weekly, because i'm 10000% sure the system would catch and ban you after we days of nonstop playing. I got hitted withing 26hours soo ye :)
 
I dont have proof...

But i run it while im in bed, and i never get whispers in the night.

During the day i watch my toons and reply to whispers while i play cod and stuff.

My 24hour a day accounts usually last 2 - 4 months, and after that they are gone but ive made my money back 10x over by then.
 
Interesting, last time i tried to do such a crap, i got banned in 26hours lol :D Anyway sending u a PM about few things :)
