Gladiator Suite general topic

Is anyone from ADMIN going to respond to what's happening with Gladiator Suite Combat Routines?

It seems that there are quite a few people complaining that it's a scam.

IIRC we were promised a Guaranteed Term support for Buddy Store routines yet people who purchased Gladiator Suite routines as little as a few weeks ago (full price) are now being asked to pay again for the Legion versions.

If it is true recent customers had to repurchase them...I'd call it the actions of greedy opportunists, not so much a scam.

The store combat routines are already a monopoly controlled by permitted devs so it's not surprising to me something like this could happen (and that it doesn't more often...), I'd be more surprised if cokx/toikx had any malicious calculation in the way it played out or if it's just a huge misunderstanding/confusion, I'm hoping for the latter giving them the benefit of doubt.

They were 50% off when you bought them. There was a reason for that...

Now you get to upgrade for like 2 euro more than what the regular price is...

You've been here since 2011. This is nothing new with 80% of the big time bots going back years at this point.

The terms for store devs state that they can kill support for legacy products at the launch of a new expansion. If somebody wants to make a new product for a new expansion and charge a new fee for it, that's fair game.

Sorry man, them's the breaks.

I'm pretty sure the contract only makes them update it till the end of an expansion. If you bought there routines at the start of WoD you've just had the product for 2 years for like 15$ its not the devs fault you got on the glad suite train late.

Thanks for your comments. My post was out of concern for existing customers. I'm not in any way commenting on the quality of the product. I simply feel this kind of behaviour is bad for the community. What are new customers going to think when they see what's happening? They're simply going to purchase a different product. The Dev is damaging his own customer base and the reputation of Bossland products in general. Not good business practices.

People were told AGEs ago there would be an upgrade fee for legion CRs, 5.99 is nothing and ill gladly pay them something every expansion to keep on going. You cant just expect them to Give you upgrades every expansion for nothing they would make no money.

Cokx and Toizi are one of the most legit and genuine guys I know.
They didn't scam anyone ever as far as I know and they do not plan to do it.
LegionBuddy routines are a different platform so it's gonna include completly new routines.
If you don't want to use LegionBuddy then you're fine you can keep going with HB.

I think you're just a little slow to be honest.

Why would you buy a full routine right before legion drop, when you know it's useless and might as well wait - ESPECIALLY when that routine specifically said "WoD Edition" as the ending tagline.

It was no secret, there's no "BS scam" you're just a moron.

I'v edited the thread title. You can discuss things like this here but keep it civil.

Info:
1. If you are not happy with a product use our 7 day no-question-asked refund policy
2. If everything is ok in genereal but a product has bugs then please report this in the authors support thread of the product including a logfile.
3. Do not forget that WoW itself and HB has issues and that it will take days/weeks after legion release before everything is working like before the addon. That means sometimes its not the product creators fault that things are not working :D

Do not forget that we all have a private life and summer vacation and so on so don't blame the author if he does not offer a fix within hours. Some things take time.
If you report a problem with a logfile and a brief description of the issue I've never seen a developer not answering or fixing things.

Then I offer my sincere apologies. My concern, as stated, was for customers. I hold these devs in the highest regard. The do something that I could only dream of. Anything that doesn't involve a spanner, screwdriver or hammer (or the internals of something electronic) is beyond me. I'm going to stick to my guns though and say that I still feel this is bad practice that hurts both parties, customer and developer.

I just want to add a different point of view...there are some routines and products that are in HB that before being purchased it said "lifetime support for this and new products"
I know that a lot of works has been made in order to adapt the routines to new combat system...but why did you sell your product (overall talking) as lifetime support and future updates if things can change?

I insist, I want to add a different point of view, as a costumer and knowing that there are tons of hours behind routines.

Can you make a suggestion on how you would like it to be handled?
Close the store 3 months before a new addon? Then you gonna piss off a lot of people too.

I purchased Gladiator suite and most other things back in the day before the buddystore so i cant compare with people that bought them 1 month ago, however, i dont mind paying again for a good routine. the 60-70 euros i spent on GS was worth it considering i had it over 2 years, it was an investment.

For people moaning about paying again, please be reminded that devs are required to keep a product up until the end of the expansion, so if you bought 1 month ago, you should have waited for the new release instead.

This is not a scam, its business, and its how they make their income and what drives them and others as well to make quality scripts.

if you want a FREE script which then you cant moan about money, use singular.

I think the general consensus here is that no one wants to believe Tokx/Toizi would intentionally screw over their customers.

I just wish they were more transparent about this as it could have prevented any confusion.

Even something simple as an announcement like:
"Dear customers, we're going to be releasing the Updated legion GS routines, we made X changes to each routine and in return we are asking you pay half the original price to upgrade for the continued work/future updates we're going to be providing going into the future of Legion - If you paid full price for the WoD routines days before we released the legions, we shall upgrade you for free"

That just makes way more sense to me than releasing the routines, no mention of what was changed, improved, added, etc and no mention of having to pay again, if they did either of these I almost guarantee we wouldn't have a thread like this...yes it's the fault of customers for not knowing the buddy store ToS but devs should assume most of them don't and give them a warning of having to repurchase, just my two cents...

They mentioned all this on discord months ago

Yes but discord is a chat program so you'd have to be online at that specific time if you wanted to hear from it. Apart from that, Discord in my eyes is an 'extra', a seperate way of communicating together and maybe get faster responses on your questions (since its chat). IMO it is in no way comparable to the forums.

Its like you take the train regularly and all of a sudden your train ticket is 50% more expansive and they say 'yeah but our company have announced the increase in price over the train station PA system two months ago'.

They have an announcement section on discord, so no-one could miss out on them saying it. There is over 100 ppl on there daily, if you don't want to be there for announcements or updates then that's your problem not theirs

If this is the case (I had no idea there was any communication about the new releases, as I don't own the GS routines so therefor don't follow the discord), then I don't see a problem with this at all, at a $7 price tag and given a warning before hand, I can see how that could upset those who bought them all but the developers decided to make some motivational money; in the end they do have to give 30% of that $7 every sale - I'd just consider it a 'required' donation for their extra work.

It's unfortunate and probably disappointing to some, yes, but my opinion has changed now that I know they gave everyone a warning before hand.
