I'm sure this has come up before, but the name of this game is gear right? we would like greater flexibility in selecting which items get sold and which dont. Most of us cant understand or alter the scoring system to get the results we are looking for, so I propose a slightly more complex solution, using variables that are already built in.

Similliar to the auction house search screen thats in the game client, The Guiles-trinity item system would work the same except a new array with stored values would be compared to the item prior to stashing and would preceed the scoring system. Once the new array looped values were checked, it then goes into the stash or not current scoring system, then to the vendor.

These values would be entered by the user from a drop down box and text value user interface that pops out from the item config tab. Dont laugh, but I made a small example of what i mean:

trinityexample.webp

The stats are selected from a drop down box, the values are strict boolean followed by a number. Once the stats and values are selected, a button, such as "Keep this Item" pushes the values into an array and are displayed in the large text box. Individual items from the array can be deleted when selected from the large text box.

Like I said, this is jsut an idea, and the variables can be used straight from the old system. It wouldn't take much to implement, and would give us, the users much more flexibility in what we keep and what we trash.

Thanks, and flame on.

What's hilarious about this is that Demonbuddy already supports this kind of logic through Loot Rules. Why reinvent the wheel?

a lot of folks find it kinda confusing. i set the loot rules to my liking and got it to sift through trash the way i want but not everyone is a progrrammer and knows how to read code. the explanation of it is mind numbing and hard to follow even if you have a powerpoint presentation. Im jsut saying make it easier to figure out for the masses.

What the DB team needs to do is create a GUI interface to edit the loot rules visually. Most people won't know how to edit the DefaultItemRules.xml manually.

P.S. this already exist, people just got brained washed with giles item scoring because it's more easier to slide 3 bars to your liking.

and what about the program that create XML ? loot rules creater ? its a pretty good idea the only thing is when i try to switch the loot rules files it dosent . like the default one is locked there .

Go to DB settings tab and set Log to Diagnostic. Then try to load your item rules xml file. If DB isn't able to load it, you will find it output a lot of errors, so the syntax of that file might be wrong and should be checked.

I would like to see a GUI myself since its paid for seems like it would be a great addition in mean time ill check out item rules.I would just like to know what OS getting skipped.
