Getting banned on the same IP?

Hello,

If I'm using 2 accounts, 1 with a bot and 1 is my main account that I don't bot on that much. If I get banned on the botting account is there any chance of getting banned on my main account because I'm logging in on them on the same IP? Has anyone experienced this?

If you bot on your main and they catch you doing so, yes your main will get banned.

If they do not, no it will not, they do not ban all accts on a battle.net, only the account caught cheating or benefiting from those cheats (sending all gold to main).
 
Actually there is a risk you'll lose your main account, botting on a secondary account on the same bnet.
I've noticed that several times both when I've had bans, or when I've requested account locks for various reasons, only the primary(read first on list) account has been affected. This is despite the actions causing the bans happening on other accounts, and account locks being requested on ALL linked accounts.
I think this is just human error, the bans I've had on my primary account have always been shifted to the correct account after enquiry, but it is something to keep in mind. They won't ban your main account intentionally if you aren't botting on it/they don't catch you. But if they catch your other account, they'll investigate them all.
 
While it may happen, you can easily dispute it, because many families use the same bnet for multiple accounts making logging in easier. it wouldn't be fair for blizz to ban a family for one kids dumb behaviour.

True, but they'll often trace the account back to payment method or something and give you the old "You're responsible for those who use your account" speech. Just because it's not "fair" doesn't mean they care.
 
guys, i dont mean 2 accounts on same bnet, i mean seperate accounts completely, however, they are both running on the same PC ie same IP. is there still a risk??? thanks!
 
Yea, actually Blizzard can ban you for nothing, its clearly written in the EULA/TOU, so .. there is risk always. But generally the IP bans are 99.99% related to selling gold, not to botting!
 
Not much of a risk. But again, because one account is banned, being played from the same household, it's not uncommon for all accounts you own to be investigated.
This means someone actively looking at your main account.
If you're actually botting on that account, yes, your second account being banned increases the chance of your main being caught.
It's still just a chance though. It's entirely your decision as to wether or not the risk is acceptable.
