1-60 is prolly around 7-8 hours /played if u log out each time u reach instance limit, in practice its around 15-17 hours at comp (around 15-16 instance lockouts).
What i do myself:
1~11 slay X of Y questing,
10-20 SFK (kill everything till wolf boss, move out of tower and walk down to exit through roof)
20-40 Scarlet Monsatery (go to the end and pull mobs backwards to entrance, Cath->Armory->reset->Armory->Cath->reset->...)
40~47 Blackrock Depths (you can enter BRD at 40 level, starting through left locked doors, killing golem and following path till shadowforge lock, out and reset, can also kill ~48lvl mobs reachable without keys if u're below ~44)
~45~51 Scholomance (you can enter at 45 level, similar tactic to SM, leave alts, jump off first bridge and start clearing backwards)
~50-55(60) Stratholme (preferably baron run w/o slaughterhouse, but its so fast that u might want clear most living side to not reach instance lock)
At this point i prefer to level up desired number of chars to 55 level and then activate TBC trial and 55-60 in Hellfire Ramparts.
Tips:
- BRD is only instance u need to keep following with alts,
- in SFK/SM/Scholo you just leave them at entrance, they will have range on everything u would clear,
- Stratholme Undead side - leave alts in between 2nd and 3rd gates, they will have exp range for everything except slaughterhouse event,
- Stratholme Living side - leave alts just before fork and do NOT kill Balanar or he will spawn mass skeletons and pwn ur alts
- ZF is probably slower (and way more annoying for sure) than BRD
I prefer "lazy mode" in 40+ instances, i choose fastest exp with least effort (golem->shadowforge lock and out, strat quick undead side clear without slaughterhouse event or living side) and watch tv series while waiting for lifting limit.
