there are some who try to artificially lower the gem prices by selling gems at much lower prices to lower the average trade prices so that when u try to sell the recommended price is very low don't use that price :)
always check the buy price before selling cos that is the real price
(i think they are using a bot to do this )

now throw some gold my way cos i saved u money

yea i noticed that also. Tried and bought 10 flawless sq emeralds for 100g each. Next 10 were in normal price.

It's not a scam, just market manipulation.

Find the price at which all the gems occasionally peak at and always list at that number.

Also notices that. Somebody is trying to manipulate the market, 1 account sells a lot of gems 100 each, other buys them for 100 gold instantly, price drop and other noobs list their gems for 2-4-5k instead of 12-15 for emeralds. I think its nice profit for an exploiter!

it's not a scam, it's too trick basic AH bots into posting for stupidly low prices so that they can then resell them for normal/higher price.

Why would AH bots be selling gems? That makes no sense.

It's just normal people selling the gems at the low price.

Been happening with tombs loads also. Thing is they are hitting it so bad they never peak at normal price anymore

anyone posting low in order to trick someone into the auto price is just going to instantly sell ... on US at least i guess if they just post 1 it might trick someone into a few stacks

example, crafting tome, auto price will say things like 600g-800g, if you post they sell instantly, look them up and the buy price is like 1800, post at 1499 they also sell instantly, at double the auto price ... I'm not entirely sure how the AH works other than auto price is based on last 10 trades I think

edit: that means someone is actually selling them for 600, i have even see it say like 80g before... beyond me so can't really comment.

AH bots should be buying items that are under vendor imo

i was an ah botter. we botters dont bot gems FFS. where are u guys getting ur information from?

I think that someone exploits AH price mechanic. Some tricky ah botnet, with a control center. Must be really smart :)

For the people who don't understand (i think some of you do and are making money off it and acting innocent) a bot posts X-amount of gems on the ah for 4 times (pulled the number out of my ass but the point stands) less than the gem is worth. It then (on a seperate account) buys them back instantly and in around the same quantity. If they do this over and over the AH starts to undercut that price and they artificially create a new market price for that gem. The price that is set does not stay long term (due to supply/demand etc) but it does hold for a long enough period of time for the bot to then buy up gems at 2-4 times less than they are really worth. Then later in the day when the price returns to normal the bot sells its stockpile for a handy profit.
