Gb2 combat?

I recently started using the gatherbuddy2 aspect of my honorbuddy purchase in order to farm ore. If a npc attacks me while mining however, the bot just stands there and dies? Am I missing a setting somewhere or something? I've looked at all the stuff I could think of to look at, and obviously this isn't a workable situation currently.
