Gathering of Bots in Twin Peaks

Well, as I am relatively new to the botting world, I encountered something quite scary as far as my account is concerned, in a BG (Twin Peaks) the other day.

I am pretty good about watching my bot, I usually bot when I'm getting work done and subsequently check it quite frequently while I am at my computer.

That being said, I tabbed from my document back into wow the other day, to find a group of bots sort of stuck near the tower close to the horde graveyard. They were running back and forth in a small circle (from my small knowledge of botting I assumed it was a mesh error). It was about 5-6 characters and it scared the S**t out of me.

A guy in the bg chat asked what all those people were doing. And another said "Their all bots." (it was so obvious someone oblivious to botting itself would recognize something was out of place)

Has anyone else had these problems? Maybe I am unaware of this issue going on but I wanted to ask. And is this something Ultimate PvP suite could potentially remedy? In the small time frame I have had the bot, I have not used it to do BG's much but to level my character up. I mainly bought it for the reason of doing bg's and thought it would excel because its name "honorbuddy" sounded like it might help me out.

we are working on the Twin Peaks logic now for bgbuddy, it should be in the next release.

I have noticed this too, not only in Twin Peaks but in Isle of conquest and Alterac Valley as well, it seems like the bots get suck in a group and keep following each other in circles...

Yeah, Its a double edge sword with the honorbuddy logic. It works flawless and looks pretty human like when you are one of the only bots in the battleground. The problem is it doesn't work well with a large number of bots in the battleground. They start moving together and sometimes will get stuck in the "following largest enemy pack" logic and run back and forth in a giant group. AV is sort of buggy as well. (It just sits in belinda's room and Van's room at the front of the entrance).

I am pretty sure these things are being worked on at the moment. If not I would love to help the dev's find the specific problems, as I frequently watch my BGbuddy and usually see what could be improved.

In a number of BGs it likes to move to the largest group of allies assuming something is going on there... well sadly now there are so many bots in BGs that the logic will get you busted. It works beautifully when there are mostly players but is horrible when the good majority are bots. I've heard talk of revamping the overall logic a bit or having the bots communicate with each other but it's likely not an easy task!

just run the beta version of honrobuddy, it should have the twinpeaks logic in it, so that will help things.

I would like to report that the bot does this in most other BG's as well, in some way or form.

Eye of the Storm - spawns, runs to DR, then turns around and runs to the biggest friendly pack. Sometimes we get trains of 5 or 6 bots doing this at the exact same time and the bots got all called out.
Isle of conquest - same things, forms bot trains all the time, runs to a location, then turns around, runs back and forth for a while, then moves to the biggest friendly pack. Also does it on the stairs leading to Horde boss. Also, if people get Catapults, the bot will stack with the group, but not use the Catapults, running in circles around them instead, so at one point you get a massive lump of people running around the Catapults in front of the Horde gate, not being able to decide where to go.
Temple of Kotmogu - sometimes will spawn at the GY, run back and forth and you get to see a massive train of 5 or 6 people doing it, running confused around each other.
Alterac - sometimes randomly does it in towers. First goes up, then suddenly goes down, then runs out, then gets back in, then out again, wandering around the tower not being able to decide what it wants to do.
Arathi - kind of less obvious, but still gets confused and runs in circles between two random locations. Also, if Stabs are taken by the Horde, if it spawns in the Ally base it will run straight to Stabs, regardless of how many hordies are there. Very obvious and real players start raging about it and screaming "Don't go to Stables idiots", which is not nice when you pull agro from players so much.
Strand - last time I checked, it got stuck everywhere. Stairs, teleporters, gates gave it major issues at the start of a game if you are playing on Defense. Don't know if it's fixed, so I've blacklisted the BG in my WoW settings. Have to test if it still does it.

Right now it appears to be very unsafe to bot, as even people who have no idea still call the bots out.
