too many debate going on so i'll just change my paladin to herb/mining as well. both of them have decent LFR gears fully gem/chant, and talent/glyph to kill mobs! I found that the druid does not kill mob as fast as the paladin, may be due to it's lower ILV. but the paladin can quickly dispatch any mob that ever dare to aggro. may be due to the fact that druid has 2 dots and 1 self buff, while pally has a passive dot and only 1 self buff. so the pally has quicker burst out damage. while the druid has 100 energy + tiger's fury. which isn't so bad behind. but from what I see. pally can kill mobs faster than DK/Druid sole cos DK and Druid rely on their dots to do most of the damage, not good for mobs that can only last 1-2 tick.

TEST Was done at night time 1-6am realm time, very very quite, and I often come back to the PC every hour or so to check for /who is in zone. usually just me, sometimes there is another player or 2, I armory them right away and they are either non-gathering or single gathering. so very unlikely another bot is there. also note that townlong and dreadwaste is high-combat zone. u get much more chance to fight mobs due to they are lv90, much less in jade forest/Vot4W so I would test it next time. please note that I forgot to check info on the druid on how many mobs he killed in the session. the deaths may be from running into Zandarli warscout ? ? cos I dont' think I can aggro enough regular mobs to die. anyway pleas see result... it's funny.

Kills: 507 (91/hr)
Deaths: 2 (0/hr)

I will try these again next time and will give a simple result and also test in jade/vot4w where there is less chance to combat. that mobs killed kind of got me thinking, it's 507 mobs killed for 786 nodes. that's A LOT of combat. but I am guessing either Zandarli warscout that spawn scarabs, or I am fighting the mantid in the center of dreadWaste where they come in packs of little mobs. but that is still a lot of combat.
another thought, if a non-tauren druid can get the hands on a forager gloves. druid may become far better than pally as he can pick the herb before the mob reach him to interrupt. which avoids a combat. but in my test they are the same cos the druid is very unlikely to finish the herb before the mob touch him.

UPDATE, SORRY GUYS this test result is UNRELIABLE! I just found out that paladin did not have [Mist-Piercing Goggles], DAMN IT! i'll run again tonight with goggles and update result !.

TEST today I did on paladin with goggles. over 6 hours gets 144.67356 NPH. funny thing is I got exactly 91 kills per hour. (lotting mob is off)

druid had 139.6786 NPH, pally had 144.67356 (with higher ilv)
looks like i'll be farming forager on my druid now

Keeping a better eye on this might help your credibility too when the results come ;-)
Of course there will be 'bursts' based on competition and node densities of the routes in the zone.

But, he reports the NPH over a respectable time interval for each. The NPH 'normalizes' the variations in time, and these other considerations.

cheers,
