Just bought a new Rig with windows 7 it wont run GB says it has to download missing componets and never works. I cant download 3.5 framework its gives me errors for my 64 bit :[

Try right-clicking & select 'run as administrator'. Works for me, using GB Goldseller version.

There is an additional installer that needs to be run if Gatherbuddy complains about missing components. GatherbuddyInstallerWorkaround.exe should be in the same location as the version of Gatherbuddy you downloaded. For GB 1.7.4.65, it is here.

For .NET3.5, it runs great on Win7 64-bit. [wiki]Buddy products: Installing the .NET 3.5 Framework[/wiki] should help you get it installed properly.

Don't forget... on Win7 all these installers and Gatherbuddy itself should be run in Admin mode.

cheers,
CJ

when it says you need to install extra components...try downloading the .zip file from the 1st post in the official GB thread

do not uninstall your net framework

and plz tell us if you are ok now :)

I couldnt install or follow that guide posted in this thread, however, i found out that 3.5 should already be included in your windows, so:

Go into programs and features in the Control Panel and click turn windows features on or off and check if its there.

My GB works now :)

Running Windows 7 x64

Yeah Windows 7 has all the programs installed. But you have to enable them.
For instance it might have Net 2.0 net 3.0 net 3.5 and net 4.0 You just have to choose which program to enable.
The turn on windows feature is on one of the wiki guides.

I ended up trying to instal 3.5 again and windows said this program is already installed click here to turn it on.
:)

Hope thats useful for anyone who has the same problem.

yes :) bossland had a folder JUST for my problem just ran it and boom it was good as new!
