Gather profiles = Grind profiles?

Its time to start dabbling in the more intricate parts of HB. Slowly .. but surely

So do tell...if i were to use a hotspot recorder (several options floating about) does differentiation exist between a grinding or gathering profile? or are they interchangeable depending on the botbase used?

Ie: if i use zap for "gb2 hotspot" recording, can it be used as a grind profile? or does it need to be done completely differently?

It can be if you are recording from the ground. One thing about hotspot recorders is they tend to make you pause a lot while gathering and grinding. It's a good way to learn how to make profiles though.

yea it will be from the ground. I just wanted to make sure before i caused more trouble for myself during the learning process. That will be where i start then.

while I have you here... does/do said hotspot recorders lay out the hotspots in a useable format (ie do they essentially write the profile for you) or do they simply record the hotspots and its up to you to transplant or convert them into a useable profile?
