Hello all, I'm back for few weeks with very limited time to play / develop a High End PVE CR.

Therefore, I need your help to list for a Frost Mage :
  • Perfect talent tree
  • Perfect rotation with every possible scenario (procs)
  • Possible macros


I'll do my best to put it all together and compile a new community free CR.
This can only be done through all the help / efforts you all (eperienced) players put together.

Please, if you contribute to the thread, be sure :

You PERFECTLY know the Mage + FROST
You know what you are talking about

Andecause it would be too obvious to tell "I know this works better than what you say", make sure you can DEMONSTRATE why :
Have tested and can demonstrate efficiency of your tellings (be able to provide a simcraft for example) over another theory.

I'd very much like to have a free combat routine. Singular isn't very configurable and I think paid routines are expensive.
 
I've been using the paid version(s) for my frost mage and while they are good, they could be better. Sometimes in a raid she just stands there waiting on cooldowns to cast another defensive spell. Also use of Ice Barrier is not well handled, in that it's not invoked when it could be to reduce damage (when aggro is pulled or there are multiple mobs). Would love to give a community CR a try.

Dear sk8er_boi, if you follow this kind of guides, you are a lost mage.
First thing first :

About Our Reviewer
This guide has been reviewed and approved by Kuni, one of the best Frost Mages in the world, who raids in Midnight Sanctuary.

But that dear Kuni, absolutely does not use the build therefore the rotation : ARMORY

I also can google "frost mage rotation 6.0.3" and post links such as noxxic.com, maxdps.com, magerotation.org but every single thread on Frost mage would be different.

I'm not looking to build an average mage CR, but a high end raiding CR. I'm the author of FireMage CR, which was allowing ppl to always rank on top.
Again, if I ask the community top help, it's for YOU, I don't need any BOT or CR. I started to code the fire mage routine only for rotation testing purpose and when I realized it was doing the perfect one "at least for me" I decided to release it to YOU.

Now, for personal reasons, I don't have time nore the will to play WoW as before. I'm very busy with my work but would be happy to see my CR rank 1st.
YOU guys provide sustainable template / rotation for Frost Mage, I provide the code. If nobody is interested in, fair enough, I'll close that thread.
 
Builds change per fight. There is no perfect build for anything. If you check the rotation page throughly you will see rotation changes on talent choices. Do not check only the single target rotation but the "opening sequence" part also. This is a pretty good guide if you understand it completely.
 
But let me give you the talent build i use generally.

Warlords of Draenor Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

Opening sequence:


1 - Pull with a frostbolt
2 - Mirror images & Icy Veins
3 - Put Prismatic Crystal near the boss or between mobs.
4 - Cast frozen orb.
5 - Spam 2x Ice Nova on prismatic crystal
6 - As your fof's accumulating spam ice lances until prismatic crystal disapears.
7 - cast a frostbolt and cast your pets water jet and continue casting 2x frostbolts.
8 - use remaining fof's.


Normal rotation priority list

Use ffb
use fof
use water jet when off cd. dont use when you have fof active.
cast frost bolt.
use mirror images and icy veins when available.

Try to align prismatic crystal , ice nova and frozen orb cds. So you can benefit %10 bonus most effectively.
