From Barb to Monk

Im pretty conservative but the idea of having a monk doesnt sound bad.

I wonder if people that switched from barb to monk could share their experiences? Do you feel its as good as a barb? Better? Worse? Any help appreciated

Never used barb, but Im so impressed with my monk that I am thinking about abandoning my PL70 Wizard and selling his gear.
The monk 1 shots everything and didnt cost more than 20mil to gear. Mostly just used drops found by the wizard.

I was debating whether to make a barb or another monk next. I just hate losing all the pl because I dont gear for mf.

I run 3 monks and 1 barb. Tried the barb as my second bot, wasn't really blown away by it. Now it's a WW-barb, and it's pretty fast, but still prefer my monks

Horrify + 30% movespeed for 4 sec is on a 15 sec cooldown. I will pass.

My original bot was a barb and I started a second bot with a monk. After a couple days of the monk blowing away the barb in finds, I switched the barb to a monk and I'm not looking back until some nerfs/buffs happen.

I prefer Monks over the Barbs. But yet do use a barb once in awhile just to mix it up. So same monk isn't on non stop.

Its cheaper to gear and gives me the impression that kills faster

My Glass Cannon Monk has problems with any Range Elites that spawn with Molten and Shielding. Reflects Damage is also a problem when Serenity runs out.

Monks are better bots for the sheer cost. A monk comparetively cost compared to a Barb is no contest. You cna gear a monk for 20-40 million that will out kill/mf/gf a 300m geared barb. However, if you have an sload of loot, like me, barbarians have the best kill speed/mf/gf.

If you get banned on a barb tho, it hurts a HELL of a lot more than a monk. My barb probably has 1-1.5 billion in gear.

So the moral of the story is, if your worried about getting banned, or are just starting, the monk is a very close 2nd to barb, and probably theoverall better choice.
