I was moving my computer table when i heard a noise, by the time i realised it was the power cable not in properly my pc switched off. It would not come back on and nothing i tried worked. Tried replacing the power supply but that didnt work either. From what i can gather its fried the mobo + cpu and possibly the memory & graphics card(not sure).

But my genius fiancee has managed to take out insurance on my comp after it has fried and today we made a claim and they are coming out on tuesday to collect the computer. I was ready to replace the parts but she has saved me loads of cash.

Anyway its killed me not being able to bot for almost a week now, it feels like ive lost an arm or a leg. Installing wow now on my fiancee's laptop to see how botting works on that seeing as though i will be without my pc for AGES.

Tl;dr version:

Comp fried, got insurance, claimed, installing bot + wow on laptop

Could be a blown fuse in the plug. Just saying. Plenty of people overlook these things..

yes that is true

if the mobo was blown, the power supply will still turn on and you can hear the fans, but the mobo will beep if the mobo, cpu, or ram is fried

bought a new power cable along with new power supply. Still dead

EDIT: If i disconnect the 4 pin atx power cable(the one near the cpu) then the fans power up but the pc still doesnt work

so you plugged in a new power supply to your computer, and the ATX cable is plugged into the motherboard? (the big one with like 16 plugs in a rectangle)

Yes i plugged in both the small 4 pin and the large rectangle one

your computer should be beeping... or at least the power supply turning on.

make sure the wire from the push button to the motherboard is connected. if you replaced the power supply, it should at least kick the fan in on the power supply... but it needs a method of telling it to turn on

If i disconnect the 4pin atx cable at the side of the cpu then the fans and my cooler all switch on but the pc does not boot nor do i hear any beeps. If i plug that cable back in then nothing

EDIT: I just checked all the connections and the jumper cable for the power switch and everything is ok

Well the ?24 for the instance is cheaper than what it would cost to replace the motheboard and anything else that it may have taken with it.

Thanks for trying to help
