i ran 11 toons right now, 3x3 on different realms and 2 selling accs.
one of my oldest farming accs was banned after botting a year, so i made a new axx. i optimistic bought every addon for the new acc and started to grind (not questing, because it needs more supervision).
at level 72 the new acc was temp banned for "using 3rd party software to grind in the borean thundra" - lol. i guess i had been reported in northend and the temp ban then came very quickly.

today, at lvl 76 the account was closed again and blizz wants to inspect that account. well i think the result will be a perm ban. i do not think that it was reported again.. i think blizzard checked the acc to see if it is botting again - well, it was i just grinded around with loot disabled. blizzard definetly made a quick decision here, because my bot wasnt super obvsiously.
i think questing would be more safer on the next acc, or bg leveling.

btw i hope they will not look at RAF accounts, because this would lead to a freaking chain of botting accs :/

Then your knowledge is somewhat limited. Before HB, there have been many many many toons leveled to max level just by grinding. Hell, before questing in HB "worked" as good as it does now, people were leveling thousands of toons with HB by GRINDING.

You mean before the statistical information gathered by Blizz, which now monitors your toon for grinding 8 hours straight with no breaks on the same mobs ?????

I'd happily eat my own hat if anyone can proove they have reasently grind'ed a toon to 85 without getting a ban or suspension

When I first started wow Dec 2010 I got a 72 hour suspension for grinding in Northrend with HB on my very first toon (grinded for 1-2 days 12 hrs per day before the temp susp). Now I have 13 level 85's & 4 80+ that have quested/gathered/arch'ed the whole way and have had zero bans or suspensions.

i've grinded a toon to 80 back in wrath, but this was with non botting. People tend to report grinders more because its one of the most obvious way of spotting a botter.

Indeed. I'm either questing, doing dungeons or bg's ( and archeology ) i'm pretty happy with Honorbuddy, been using it for 5 days now, have a level 62 hunter now, and haven't been reported just one time. No one have been suspicious, using KickAzz006's horde profiles They are really great. Almost none bugs. Only a few example in Hellfire peninsula with bombs, you need to do it your self, and where it needs to get inside one of the gates it have some problems with. From 1-58 no problems so far.

I used to bot with Glider, and got banned from 1-40 by botting constantly. But Honorbuddy, it has made so it looks almost like a real person! You can't really see it's a bot when its questing, and if you have the right CC's it's ... perfect!

Well I was grinding from 1-80 last week 24/7. xD

We'll see when that account get's banned then... I'll report back if it happens.

Last I checked, there was no official statement from Blizzard representatives on this, therefore, doesn't count.
Second, nobody keeps proof of botting, that would be ridiculous.

Herp derp, grind away, grind does not = auto ban. It's user error as always. No whisper addon/plugin, not monitoring, blah, the usual.

as said before, i think i became victim of a ticket. the obvious behavior from the grindbot is the reason for higher risk, there are no scans or whatever from blizz to detect botting. but yes, one should avoid pure grinding. iam starting my new toon right now i think pally would be fine again

Proof would be a SS of 0 quests, honor, dungeon achi on a level 85, but I don't really want anyone to take me up on the challange. I guess it's more just a turn of phraze I chose to use.

Yes I do agree grind != auto ban, but you'd have to be incredibly sly to get away with it over extended periods. Hell I grind 2-6 hours every now and then just to get a good stash of volitile air.

please, eat your hat. i have recently leveled a paladin and rogue with grinding. i mixed in a little bit of BGbot, but this is maybe 1% of the total time played.

that has nothing to do with it i grind for like 15 hours a day without getting a single ban and i already grinded 4 chars to 85 with my own guild and im stil botting all chars up to 85 then i start playing i lvl my guys with heirloom's and i use all tabards for getiing exalted with cities while i do sometimes my self dungeons while grinding but i use badboy and put it on lvl 85 so i dont get whisper from lvl 1 noobs with name yinyang

People, bans come from reports. You can get reported or not, it's all luck.

We'll see if I get banned soon but yeah... Griding or botting in general doesn't get you banned, people reporting you and GMs following you because of that report and observing botty behavior does.

lol i love it how it some times keeps casting for hours on a mob not trying to blacklist it and keeps evading Xd
