freezing after login/stops at rulepath

First time user trying to get my DB up and running :D its freezing after attaching itself to d3?
ive searched for all the setup guides on the forums but cant seem to figure out my problem.

i dont see this advanced post button i read about so ill just copy paste my latest log?
windows says the program is not responding, "check for solutions" or "close progam"

tried reloading everything. same results should i try using an older trinity? using 1.7.2.2. running 800x600 16 bits in prefs. d3 window continues to flash until db is "not responding" someone please help!
 
Remove:
- Microsoft .net framework 4 client profile
- Microsoft .net framework 4 extended
- Microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable

Restart your pc,
Download the DB installationwizard from here
Run it as administrator.
After the wizard is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++
Restart

Download a clean install of DB
Run diablo3 and demonbuddy as administrator.
 
Thanks jonckr I did everything in order as instructed with success but still the same problem with db :( log says the same thing. stops at rulepath :(

So i removed trinity from my plugins folder and it didnt crash. just not sure what to do now? I apologize guys im a total newb at this.. havent messed with bots since mephbot 10 years ago hah :)

make sure you download and install the latest version of trinity. since thats the entire issue.
 
indeed i have 1.7.2.2 in my plugins folder. apparently i didnt have all my windows updates? downloaded the rest of the windows service packs this morn and after it rebooted there were more net framework .4 updates to dl.. then i rebooted and theres even more? idk seems like im downloading the same files over and over. will update once its all finished!
 
okay so i made sure and got absolutely every windows update except the language packs.. and still.. same problem persists. d3 windows blinks then db shuts down :(
 
okay so as i was about to /soulstoneintoforehead (lulz) I realized i had been dragging my trinity zip folder into plugins then extracting so it was creating an extra folder in between the plugins. was like db/plugins/trinity 1.7.2.2/giles trinity instead of directly too. anyways it started a game and started running around!! feel like such a newb about this one haha but anyways jonckr and codnameg I appreciate you guys taking the time to reply! can close thread now :D
