For Those That Bot BG's READ THIS!!! Public Service Announcement!

2 things i've noticed today...
- putting your guy on auto follow (Squire Plugin)
- Sitting out somewhere and just moving back and forth

And you all wonder why your getting 72hr's and banned... sheesh... if your this bad in BG's i can only imagine what your like grinding/questing/instance running.

I know some of these are not HB bots but some are pretty obvious to the point I can predict every movement they make. The last 3 BG's they yelled out and called 2 or 3 bots each so when i looked WOW it was stupid simple even a baby could spot it.

So I suggest you watch your toons and figure out something better.

Some of the plugins (such as Squire especially) can be risky, i agree. I used to use squire until i came back to a lots of whispers saying "Why the f*ck are you following me everywhere". Since then i've disabled it.

they are fine IF they are setup right.. but following without attacking anything.. thats just plain stupid...

Well before you give Squire Plugin a bad name i must ask have you ever used it? or are you just assuming its Squire because you think it follows you? First off squire does not target and follow. i have seen many bots right on my heels following me around. Squire does not do that. it stays 30 feet back and does not target anyone and often changes people it follows. Squire only works for heals or casters because it keeps a 30 foot distance almost always. So unless you know for sure what someone is running squire. don't go pointing fingers at someones work thinking that is why someone looks bottish. Squire is the best follow plugin HB has so far and i use it all the time in AB and i just blend in with the match.

So that's all nice and dandy that you want to call them out, but how about suggesting something better for them instead of the acerbic nature of your usual posts?

I agree that the BG bots are usually pretty obvious if you know what you're looking for, but that is the nature of the program and available plugins, not the user. Yes, the user is responsible for knowing how their toon behaves with each profile and they're at risk, but I think suggestions to help them are going to be more useful than yelling at the idiots.


Edit: Squire does not make someone afk not attacking. That is not HB, that's something else.

SimpleFollow is another plugin that people use that does follow closely (you adjust the range). There are also other ones that can be setup to attach to someone... But if the bot isn't setup right, it won't fight cause the logic doesn't exist for it to do so (like a CC for the class not existing).....

But I do not bash Squire, I use it a reference since its the most commonly used. Its probably the best one out there for that purpose (i agree with that) and bobby knows my feelings toward it are good.

But like i said.. I'm talking about how people AFK bot, and don't know what they are doing and in turn get reported and what not... so READ before you bash...

Sorry if you think i was bashing but it does look like in your OP that you were singling out Squire. and your right some people are retarded botters. i think in 1 BG i had 3 guys following me about 2 feet back the whole fight... they were doing nothing not even attacking just following. i even whispered them and told them they need to get rid of the plugins they were using because they were about 1 BG from getting banned. Luckily they were following me and i don't report botters... Snitches get stitches. =oP


Wonder why they call it Honorbuddy... very little plugins for BG's or CC's that work in BG... what were they thinking naming it Honorbuddy? maybe PVEbuddy would have been a good name...

Squire is by far the best plugin for healing (specialy with shammies since its wrote by teh same creator as for ShamWoW)... its also the most recognized one. But the idiots that use SimpleFollow which is ok, but is way obvious as you can set the distance to be right up someones ***. And honestly alot of these arn't HB anyways, but the few that are.. hopefully they will get the hint that people do spot them and they should rethink how they bot, or at the very least check their configs BEFORE walking away from what they think is right.
