Flagged character or account?

So my main account got hit in the May 2015 ban wave. Shit happens. Now I've had this account since vanilla, and was a little gutted now it has had a 6 month ban on it. But no problem I retired the account and made a new one and would just get the gold off it when the ban expired... well that didn't work out! lol.

Anyway, my question is if I were to transfer my 2 mains from that account to a new account would they still be flagged as having a 6 month ban? So would my new account be at greater risk of perma ban because of those characters?

I could be wrong, but I doubt anyone besides Blizzard can give you a definite answer to this question.
