First Character to 85. Need advise on spec

First of all, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their help and for having patience with me lol, this being my first time trying honorbuddy. Today my first character hit level 85, now I'd just like to know what your opinions are on what character spec to chose for my level 85 Paladin. I'm currently specced Protection and I hardly (if ever) died on my way to 85. I am planning on using this character solely to farm ores and herbs. Please let me know what you think.

Stay prot then u don't have to worry about brink killed by mobs when afk farming ?

Bot pvp gear and go retri. Worth it in the long shot.
