EZUpdater[SUB] (beta)[/SUB]

The Demonbuddy Plugin Auto Updater
​
Currently supports:

  • Trinity
  • QuestTools
  • LumberJack

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Copy EZUpdater zip file and unzip into Plugins Directory
** I use 7Zip. It's the best. You should too :)

Result: you should have EZUpdater directory with SharpSVN.dll

2) Copy SharpSvn.dll into your Demonbuddy "ROOT" directory

3) Start Demonbuddy

4) Enable EZUpdater in Plugins Tab

4) If you see this message in the log window, one of the plugins was updated and you'll need to close Demonbuddy and restart it for the update to take effect.

About SharpSVN.dll

SharpSVN is an open source SVN implimentation in C# running natively on .NET 4.0. You can find more information and verify the download here: https://sharpsvn.open.collab.net/


Best to only use with the latest Demonbuddy BETA

OK so a lot of the same thing seems to be happening to people, here is a few quick ways to avoid the most common ones!​

OK so you're getting compiler errors etc. when launching DB after update...

First off are you running the latest beta of Demonbuddy? -- http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonbuddy-forum/151424-beta-demonbuddy-beta-builds.html [at this moment build: 391]
If not it might be the reason your having problems "according to some users at least it have been reported that it will only work with the beta demonbuddy.


After you have ensured your are running latest beta, try what's written below if you're still having problems.

  1. Delete your EZUpdaterstorage folder located in "YourDBfolder"
    -
  2. Delete all plugins in the plugins folder located in "YourDBfolder\Plugins\"
    -
  3. Delete the folder named EZUpdater located in "YourDBfolder\Settings\"
    -
  4. And just to be sure delete the sharpsvn.dll in "YourDBfolder"
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Now we need to get them plugins again, so please follow the stuff written below.

  5. Download EZUpdater and follow the installation instructions as written by rrrix -- http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...028-ezupdater-plugin-updater.html#post1421325

  6. Now the only plugin you should have present in your Plugin folder is EZUpdater, if that's not the case please reread the whole thing or just punch yourself hard in the face with something hard.

  7. If you passed nr. 6 without any failure 40, please do continue and -- > Start DB and let it update, if it doesn't start to update... check the plugin part of DB and make sure EZUpdater is enabled.

  8. Restart once the updating has completed and you are asked to restart.

If you still are having problems, well I really don't know what to say i tested out downloading the DB Beta this morning, deleted those plugins that followed and only put in the newest EZupdater, copied the sharpsvn.dll to root.
Only thing i also copied over was the following settings files from my old DB, which is stored at this location "yourdbfolder\settings" --

GlobalSettings.xml
TVars.xml
And my Battletag folder

After that i ran DB it updated, i restarted and everything was fine.

Updated to 0.1.4, it was always updating every time...

Yes, this will be great, and probably will get more plugins in the future, ryar, simplefollow, etc.. So then I can be a little more lazy and not have to look for plugin updates either.. :)
 
does ezupdater update itself as well? :)

As i look at the source files, it doesn't seem that the plugin can update itself. It just Updates Lumberjack, Trinity and Questtools :)

DELETE YOUR EXISTING SETTINGS FILE

Changelog:

* Added UI to force updates
* Added EZUpdater to svn list (yes it can now update itself!)
 
Setting where in DB/Settings folder or Ezupdater plugin folder?
 
Damn Rrrix, never ceases to impress :P
Will make sure to get this plugin when I return to bot D3 again.

Small request, can you add links to this plugin and the LumberJack to your signature?
It would be very helpful in the future ;)
 
Wow rrriiixxxx mucho love :) Ive been wanting this for ages :) My db always crashes when i use update tools so then this would be perfect to keep my current settings in any plugins :P Weeeeee so happy now.
 
Rrrix, Have you ever considered adding you Questing profile to this as well?
